Manchester United's captain Wayne Rooney has been left out of the team that travelled to Rotterdam for the opening match of the Europa league. Jose Mourinho named a 20 man squad that will take on Feyenoord in thurday's Europa league match. Although no anouncement has been made as to why the captain was left out, but it is believed he is not injured but only rested.

Other players missing out are Valencia, Shaw, Jones, Lingaard and Mkhitaryan.


The teams on the plane are as follows:
De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Rojo, Blind, Baily, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling; Carrick, Herrera, Pobga, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Mata, Memphis, Young; Martial, Rashford and Ibrahimovic.


This will be the third time ever both teams are meeting. United won the previous two meetings- home and away in the champions league group stages in 1997/1998 but face a Feyenoord side in excellent form following five wins from five opening league matches.
