Every grave tells a story.

1. Chase Mausoleum, Barbados.

The Chase Family Vaultin Christ Church Parish, Barbados was built in 1724 and first used in 1807. Remains were interred and sealed with marble and cement.

In 1812, the mausoleum was opened for the fourth burial, but the three earlier coffins were found to have moved. An infant's coffin was found standing on end.

The coffins were repositioned and resealed. Twice in 1816 and once in 1819, the crypt was opened for further burials and the previous coffins were found flipped over or turned end-to-end.

The island governor ordered a seal placed on the door and sand was put on the floor to retain evidence of any break-ins. Yet when the crypt was next opened, the seal was unbroken, the sand was intact, and the coffins were again moved. That's when the family decided to relocate the coffins of their loved ones elsewhere. The vault has not been used since. Although contemporary accounts say there was no evidence of flooding, the simplest explanation is underground water seepage, which could move coffins without seeming to disturb a layer of sand. As the vault is built of coral, leakage does seem to make sense.

2. Stairway Grave.

Florence Irene Ford died at the age of 10 in 1871. Her mother was so filled with sadness that she had her child's coffin and tomb constructed with a glass window at the head.

And next to the burial site she had cement stairs built that lead to the window, covered by a metal door. This way the mother could visit her child whenever she wanted. It's said she went there during every storm, because her daughter was scared of thunder.

While she was alive, the daughter was terrified of storms. The grave was constructed with an entrance that descends to the level of the coffin. Her mother would come and enter the tomb during storms to comfort her child.

3. Fernand Arbelot.

Père Lachaise of Paris, France.

Arbelot was a Parisian musician and actor who died in 1942 during the Nazi occupation of France. His last wish was to forever gaze into the face of his departed wife. The epitaph to this loving headstone reads: “They marveled at the beauty of the journey that brought them to the end of life.”

4. This grave design from the Victorian era was meant to prevent the dead from escaping the grave. Just in case they were zombies or vampires.

5. The Tazacorte Martyrs Memorial.

While this may look like a grave site that is flooded, it is in fact an underwater memorial to a group of Jesuit missionaries who were travelling from Portugal to Brazil in 1570. A French pirate named Jacques Sourie boarded their ship and then he and his men killed all the priests; some of the priests even had their limbs cut off and then were thrown overboard. Only the cook on the ship survived the massacre. The memorial was set up near La Palma Island, which is part of the Canary Islands, near the area of the massacre. The memorial is 18 meters below the surface and features 40 crosses, one for each of the victims

6. The Child's Bed.

It was the late 19th Century and mortality rates of children were high.

One of the creepiest tombstones from the time is found in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Boston. It is there, that visitors can find a child-sized bed as a marker for a child who passed away. The tombstone, complete with a pillow that fell off the side of the bed, has deteriorated over the century making it a creepy and heartbreaking memorial for someone who died too young.

7. Richard and Catherine Dotson were laid to rest in the wooded hills outside Savannah in late 1800s. When the demands of World War II forced the city to expand its airport into the Dotson family cemetery, the federal government agreed to leave the couple at peace. Now, departing flights often request a graveyard tour along runway 10 whenever they depart.

8. This can be found in the Old Cemetery of Roermond, Netherlands.

Religious law of the late 19th century dictated that Protestants and Catholics could not be buried in the same cemetery. So, when Colonel J.C.P.H. of Aeffderson, a Protestant, died in 1880 he was buried against the cemetery wall that separated the two religions. Eight years later, when his Catholic spouse passed, she too was buried against the wall, directly across from her husband. The towering gravestone of joined hands was then erected over the partition, connecting the two for all eternity.

10. Valleys of the King.

The Valley of the Kings houses Tutankhamen’s grave and its believed to come with a curse as almost all who participated in the opening of the grave mysteriously died a few years after. Some scientists hold the deadly molds from the tombs maybe the cause but others believe it is the Egyptian curse for disrupting the tomb of the dead.

11. Princess Elisabeth Demidoff 1779 – 1818(France).

One of the richest women of her generation, in her will she challenged any one to a pretty massive of her fortune if they could spend a week living inside her mausoleum without going mad.

Many have tried, many have failed and the fortune remains unclaimed.

12. Russia Mafia Cemetery.

In Russia’s fourth largest city, Yekaterinburg, there are two cemeteries, one at each side of the city.

The cemeteries are filled with the bodies of the cities two rival gangs; one cemetery for each gang. The tombstones are elaborate and over-the-top, often pictures of the dead men are etched in stone and the images are larger-than-life with some of tombstones being 10-feet tall.

The ghostly images of the young men who died violent deaths haunt the cemetery, which is monitored around the clock by cameras.

13. The Mercedes Grave.

That is a 1982 Mercedes Benz 240 Diesel Limousine tomb.

Ray Jr.'s dream in life was owning a Benz, sadly he died aged 15, in 1981.

But his wealthy big brother commissioned a 26-ton granite full-sized Benz sculpture for his memorial.

This stone car is located in Linden, New Jersey.

14. This is the last remaining grave from an old cemetery in rural Indiana. Most of the graveyard was moved to make way for the state highway.

The grandson of the woman buried there refused to have his grandmother moved. The county eventually gave in and built the road around the grave.

15. About 4000 Capuchin Franciscan friars are housed in this crypt boasting of an intricate floor to ceiling arrangement of human bones paired with the crypt’s soil which is supposedly from Jerusalem.

Various bones are utilized in different chapels. For instance, there is a chapel called “Crypt of the Pelvises” and another one, “Crypt of the Skulls”.

There is a solemn reminder underneath a child’s Grim Reaper that states;

“What You Are Now, We Once Were Too And What We Are Now, You Will Be”

The stairway and Victorian era graves are both not creepy. These two are psychological cases cheesy
Normal people flee from the gravesite the minute the word storm comes up because it becomes more creepier, this mother wont have it. Then the ghost zombie hunters, sick.

The Russia Mufia has proven beyond reasonable doubt that there's life after death grin I'm certain "haunt" here means they still have their fair share of fights cheesy

16. Les Catacombes, Paris.

The Catacombs of Paris is an underground ossuary in Paris, France located south of the former city gate and holds the remains of about six million people.

Due to it’s peculiar decoration, many ghosts and strange paranormal encounters are said to occur here on a regular basis.
