ROTATION OF TROOPS ON OPERATION SAFE HAVEN

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has since Monday commenced rotation of troops deployed on OPERATION SAFE HAVEN in Plateau State. The aim is to boost the morale of the troops by withdrawing those who have spent in excess of 6 months from the theatre of operation to reunite them with their families. The injection of fresh troops also add to the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal security operation.

Troops are being airlifted by C-130H aircraft from Jos, and vice versa, to their various units located in different parts of the country. Locations covered by the ongoing airlift operation include Benin, Calabar Uyo, Port Harcourt and Enugu. Others are Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Kainji, Minna and Makurdi. The rest are Ilorin, Ibadan and Lagos.

Nice move but it shouldn't be for airforce alone. The army and navy should adopt same strategy

Yes, I concur. You took this right out of my mouth. The army has totally failed in this regard. I know of people who have spent about same number of years fighting. And some have even died without their families having any information about them.

But truth be told,some of them love it so much to be at the war front instead of returning to barrack doing nothing..I once met one in Lagos who told me,what are soldiers doing in the city? They are trained to kill so he did not like the idea of returning to city for family integration. I was very shocked with his remarks

Its called rotational operation.

I see soldiers as partial slaves. They don't live their own lives and they're always far from their families.

i remember service year in jos south/ north in 09/10, you wouldn't have moved 1km before encountering soldiers of STF on the expressway.

I do miss Jos and i hope to visit there in the nearest future....

my best past out since 2008. I tell u he loved Maiduguri like mad he love war.. His been shot twice one by boko bois 2by his own man wen dey called for backup.. So truth be told if they are 50 in number living 45 are not happy they living.. My guy has chance of transfer the yeye boi no gree ooo. I beg am tire oooo. So leave those people ooo
