The 2 day youth summit organised by Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) under the leadership of His youthfulness, Rt. Hon. (Amb.)Samuel Godstime Chukwubuikem with theme as "MOBILIZING YOUTHS AGAINST INSURGENCY, CORRUPTION AND UNEMPLOYMENT...WITH FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE AND EDUCATION" ended in grand style overr the weekend as youths shower encomiums on the organisers.

The summit which took place at the Imo International convention Centre, Owerri recorded over 3,644 accredited youth delegates drawn across the 36 states of the federation, especially south east and south-south state in attendance with two renowned Nigerians; Pastor Barr.Edwin Biayeibo and Dr.Linus Okorie as guest speakers.

The summit was chaired by the national vice president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Barr.O.A.U Onyema. Further minister of foreign affairs; Prof.Mrs Viola Onwuliri, the former speaker of YAN who is currently a honourable member of the Nasarawa state house of assembly; Hon.Kassim Mohammed Kassim, the national Patron, Youth Assembly of Nigeria and Chief of staff to the government of Imo state; Hon.Comr.Ugwumba Uche Nwosu were all keynote address speaker's at the summit.

The national deputy speaker of YAN; Rt.Hon. Shuaibu Sani of Nasarawa state led 17 northern youth ambassadors of YAN to Owerri for the summit while the deputt chief whip of YAN; Hon.Amb. Adeyelu Oluwadamilare of Ondo state led 16 southern youth Ambassadors of YAN to Owerri for the summit. The honourable commissioner for Youths and sports development, Imo state; Hon.Rodney Ajaelu, Transition committee chairmen of Onuimo, Isu, Njaba and Orsu accompanied the Hon.Uche Nwosu to the summit as the 305 YAN ward coordinators of Imo state and their 27 Local government Area YAN coordinators led by the deputy speaker of YAN Imo state chapter; Rt.Comr. Nwadike Chikezie were found seated in audience.

Participants and delegates at the summit while speaking to journalists expressed their happiness to have been part of the summit, noting that it's the best and most meaningful youth gathering ever recorded in the history of Imo state. They went further to demand that more youths should be given opportunities in policy making and governance. The national speaker of YAN; Rt.Hon.GT.C Samuel as he is fondly called, thanked the YAN National Patron; Hon.Uche Nwosu and all delegates for keeping faith with the youth struggle, urging them to remain focused and committed in making Nigeria better than they met it.
