olapluto: This is not good at all. The possibility of Ayinde and Okobi at the thick of Nigerian midfield is blessing to the Germans. Throughout this tournament, Okobi has been completely flatfooted while Ayinde passes the ball to her opponents. Falcons need fresh legs in the midfield even if it requires running around and merely harassing the Germans, I am fine with it. 2 Likes |

Dedetwo: Ayinde is excellent at the bolded. As you rightly pointed out, her weakness is her final pass. Besides, if Nwabuoku is deployed in the midfield, I'm not sure how she would cope with the speedy and younger German midfielders. So, I wouldn't mind if Okeke is deployed to the midfield, while Nwabuoku partners Ebi and Ohale in the defense. I'd also like to see Uchendu back in the midfield as well. 1 Like |

PDPGuy: So we don't have any ball holder in the team ? Also the truth is if Oshoala doesn't play we will have serious trouble. Ordega will have to step up ×5 of her already significant play. Oshoala, Ordega and the youngin Okeke are the only players on our team playing with confidence, Oshoala and Ordega are the only one that play positions and space be sure that Ordega will definitely be triple teamed/marked tomorrow so without Oshoala roaming omo I don't know because Desire has turn to full 9 after her yellow card against Norway. We definitely need Oshoala because she can play nonsense for 85 minutes but one moment and a good through pass to her can become a goal because of her pace and confidence. So bros forget your punishment talk. If she is fit only a stupid coach will bench her. 4 Likes |

ykalhaji: Well, our lack of a genuine ball-holder, especially in the midfield is why the team’s average pass-completion rate is barely 60% in this tournament. In fact, I’d say the Thai midfield completed more passes that Nigeria’s midfield in the group stage. Also, the Thai players utilized space and opened passing lanes much better than the SF. So that’s why I don’t mind whether Okobi and/or Ayinde are dropped from the starting line up later today. Chinaza Uchendu and Amarachi Okonkwo could do better in keeping possession in midfield, in the absence of Chukwelu. With regard to Oshoala, her presence on the field forces the team to play “route one” football due to her pace and strength in warding off defenders. Ironically, that could be the most effective strategy to use against the Germans because the German defense is really susceptible to fast breaks and struggle to deal with pacy forwards. If the likes of Kgatlana (South Africa) and the Chinese forwards were more composed in the final third, Germany would have conceded no less than 5 goals in the group stage. The Germans were also lucky, defensively, because the Spanish team lacks a true finisher, the reason why Germany was able to record 1-0 victories over China and Spain. To be honest, I’d like to see Uchenna Kanu starting the game alongside Oparanozie and Ordega; then Oshoala (if fully fit) can replace Kanu in the second half. |

oshoala this oshoala that ..well am glad we have a good replacement on Kanu ..this girl is just good coupled with the fact that she is fitter. BTW, ordega ,kanu and desire to play front 3. okeke,Ayinde and Ajibade at MF. Ogebe Ebi ,Ohale and Ihezuo at back 4. Our own Nnadozie should man the post. 2 Likes |

If Dennerby plays Oshoala against this German side, it will be like playing 11 against 10. She has not been fit since this tournament began. Anyone who had Dennerby's number should ask him to first play KANU, let's see what she can do |

I notice Oshoala does better as a substitute. 3 Likes |

Daejoyoung: Lolz it is because she is the only left footer but I wouldn't do that either. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Dedetwo(m): 11:33am On Jun 22, 2019 |
ykalhaji: Please remove Oshoala from the above comment. She has been a spectator in this tournament and lucky to have score one goal. The only players with soccer confidence on the team are Ordega and young players such as Okeke and Nnadozie. Chikwelu has come to play lately. |

mostob: You could as well play for Germans with this stream of thought. |

Oshoala fit to start...and looks like she starts.. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Dedetwo(m): 12:33pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
I do not care if falcons are defeated because the defeat starts from the preparation. How could anybody remotely talk about fielding Oshoala who limped out of the field with ankle injury? Germans are very good side and falcons need players at 100% strength. In addition, falcons should not field players such as Okobi and Ayinde who have dropped the ball in previous encounters. 1 Like |

Dedetwo: Boss We have only one goal scorer in this tournament oooo, only one FIFA player of the match, like I said she can play nonsense for 85 minutes but in over 270 mins of playing soccer, she is our only goal scorer, we had only 3 clear goal scoring chances, Oshoala was in front of those chances one against Norway which she missed, 2 against S.Korea, she scored one, missed the 2nd one. Bro like I said only a stupid coach will bench non injured Oshoala. |

Okobi is going to be major today I can feel it. She was very good against France especially when we went down to 10. She looks to have regained her confidence and I expect the old Okobi today. 1 Like |

Are the coaches reading this forum or what? Oshoala benched! She needed that. I am very sure Ihezuo wont be bullied. Pound for pound, she's the most powerful player on that team. 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 3:09pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli:What I see in that line up is a 3-5-2 formation. Ohale Ebi and Nwabuolu as the 3 at the back. Okeke, Ayinde, Okobi, Ihezuo and Ordega as a packed midfield 5 Kanu and Oparacaptain upfront. We should be able to frustrate the Germans at least in the middle. 1 Like |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Dedetwo(m): 3:11pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli: I do not think so. It is either Ohale, Okeke or Nwabuoku as the left back. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Dedetwo(m): 3:14pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
olapluto: I guess the below: Ohale Ebi and Okeke as the 3 at the back. Nwabuoku, Ayinde, Okobi, Ihezuo and Ordega as a packed midfield 5 Kanu and Oparacaptain upfront. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 3:14pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
Dedetwo: None of them are left footed. I don't see any other reason to start Ihezuo unless to fill the void at left back. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 3:16pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
Dedetwo: If he wanted to pack the middle he would have played Uchendu instead. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Dedetwo(m): 3:16pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli: Not in the dreams. Okobi is used up and Ayinde is a mess. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 3:17pm On Jun 22, 2019 |
Ihezuo is operating as the Left Wing back if it is 3-5-2 that's the position she played against China early this year during the invitation tournament 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: I am with you on this point. It should be Uchendu for either Okobi or Ayinde or Nwabuoku. |
