Surely, the starting center-back pairing for the 2023 World Cup has to be Chidinma Okeke and Ohale.
Onome would probably retire from the national team after next year’s AWCON, or even at the conclusion of the AWCON qualifying series.

According to her she said she would be retiring after the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. so get set to see her play till 40yrs except she decides to change plans.
It's Called the Senior National Team so if she can keep up with the momentum she can probably play till then or more sef..

Formiga of Brazil at 43yrs is still holding her own at PSG and Brazil Women National Team. She hold the record being the only player present in all Olympic Games tournaments of women's football since the first edition at the
1996 Summer Olympics, and a record for appearing at seven different FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments.

American Carly Lloyd born July 16, 1982 (age 39) is still Playing at the top Level.

All this old School nor wan gree retire sef, Bench them, them go complain say you nor da give them the playing time they deserve especially Carly..

Josephine Chukwunonye born 19 March 1992 (age 29)who last played for Kungsbacka in the Swedish Damallsvenskan 2019 season have been off the Football scene after the Knee injury she sustained..

She was possibly the next to pair with Osinachi Ohale at Center Back as soon as Onome Ebi retires but Injury is such a bastard.

Who remember Glory Iroka (31yrs) That Small but mighty Nigerian international midfielder who plays for Rivers Angels

Glory Iroka, dubbed the 'Xavi' of Women's Football but never lives up to expectation

Many would remember Glory Iroka the midfield maestro for Nigeria at the 2010 FIFA U20 Women World Cup in Germany. She was dubbed the 'Xavi' of women's football but was never heard as expected after the 2010 U20 World Cup.

Iroka now 31 was known for her passes delivery and great tackles on the pitch, her ability to control the midfield was instrumental to Nigeria second place finish in Germany and was seen as one of the great players in the tournament that will add strength to the Super Falcons midfield.

Glory Iroka as a Rivers United player was also part of the Super Falcons squad that won the 2014 Africa Women's Championship in Namibia but was not so much involved. Also part of the squad to FIFA World Cup in Germany, 2011.

What could have happen to this bright star that never live up to expectations?

Chidinma Okeke started off as a Striker, she also played as a Defensive Midfielder under Coach Osahon at FC Robo...

While the U20 National Team Coach Danjuma converted her to a Center Back at the 2018 U20 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.. Coming back from the U20 World Cup she played as a Center Back at the WAFU Cup in a 3-5-2 formation.. Going to the Senior World Cup she played as a Right Back which she's currently holding on to..

At Madrid CFF in Spain she played as a Right Back and a Makeshift Left Back...

She's versatile but Right now we would tag her as a Right Back..

I think of Mariam Ibrahim and Ohale if Ibrahim hastens her progress.

Mariam Ibrahim would have been a good option. she would be 26yrs by December.

She have that big frame of a typical Center Back but look heavy, she really need to work on her Defensive Qualities and Decision Making.. A quick and intelligent attacker can easily displace her..

Whenever I watch Mariam Ibrahim play, I always see Former Germany International Central Back Annike Krahn in her because of their Similar Big frame...
If she can step up her game she can easily take that No.5 spot as soon as Onome Ebi retires because of well physical structure which can be threatening to Opponents..

Her game reading abilities is okay she needs to improve on her Defending Ability and her Speed. She have got good Strength/Shielding Ability. She can push offensive players off the ball, win headers, and shield the ball well.

With a good sense of Positioning she can make up for her average speed

Ugochi Emenayo is another Defender who we have been talking a close watch on to fit into the boots of Onome Ebi. But these young defenders you see aren't at that Level yet, they still make those School girl errors. They have been invited to the Superfalcons team on several Occasions but still yet they haven't been able to displace the Veterans especially Onome Ebi who have been tagged the greatest defender Nigeria have ever Produced...

The likes of Osinachi Ohale, Helen Ukaonu in 2010 displaced the likes of Ulunma Jerome, Lilian Cole to the bench while they were @18 to 19...These shows how good they're at their Youth Stage..
All these Present day Players entirely really need to step up their game and take their chances...they have been given one or two chances still yet they haven't impressed as expected..

Look at the US Women's National Team for Example, As a Youth international For you to earn a spot in the Senior Team you must be at that top level and be able to give the senior player in same position with you a run for her Money..

Bundesliga: Super Falcons Patricia George’s Assist Not Good Enough As SC Sand lost to Turbine Potsdam

Super Falcons newest invite Patricia George who had an impressive outing in the recently concluded Turkish Women’s Cup 2021, was on the losing side as her team SC Sand lost in an away fixture of the DFB Porkal Cup game to Turbine Potsdam by 2 goals to 1.

George still luxuriating in her impressive performance and afterward endorsement by the manager of the Super Falcons Randy Waldrum during the games in Turkey was crestfallen in a match SC Sand would have won.

“We created more chances than the other team and were not able to convert those chances to goals.
My assist in Sand’s Solitary goal was not enough to seal a win, she said...
