Dear Nairalanderd or should I say Auto-landers?

No forum is more real than this. I need your help.

Please I seek your honest opinion in taking a decision on the best vehicle for me. Put yourselves in my shoe and let me know what choice(s) would you take.

I'm desirous of a one-fits-all vehicle that meets the below key features in the minimum:

1. LOADING: My major issues with cars is the limited space for taking loads. Some cars even when carrying full occupants tends to have their rear so low. I envisage to pick up loads in addition to full passengers every once in a while.

2. APPEAL: I want a vehicle that is appealing to the eyes, one that is more than acceptable, if not respected for social events/outings.

3. COMFORT: This one is so key. Because, I travel long distances frequently, I want a vehicle that will give me a luxurious ride whether as a run around or during long distance haulage.

4. RELIABILITY: Proven reliability, ruggedness and durability.

5. GOOD RESALE VALUE.

Many friends have voted Honda Ridgeline against Toyota Tacoma in a 5 - 4 vote; as the BEST fitting my 5 minimum criterion.

I am however open to suggestions and seeking wider opinions since those I asked are limited by their experiences.

What vehicle would you suggest is BEST for me?
Experienced users are most welcome.

Sir/ma, What's your experience with the tacoma? Why would u prefer it to it's contemporaries - especially in the light of the 5 criteria above? Please help me decide. Many thanks

The Ridgeline would be good if you don't want people to think you are using a truck. Not too common so will stand out.
Instead of buying the Tacoma, why don't you look at the Nissan Frontier/Navana.
There is also a very luxurious hilux I think GLX badge though the difference will only be noticed inside not outside.

The Nissan Navara looks appealing...But I fear durability and ruggedness for Nissan. Looks like what I could go for.
