Not a programmer or a freelance agent but I know both an online freelance writer and website developer caking off this recession. The only thing which suffers especially for the site developer is his generator and wallet in terms of buying fuel steady. My writer friend still depends fully on NEPA and hasn't complained.
Re: Programmers, How Is This Recession Affecting Your Work? by Nobody: 6:41pm On Oct 18, 2016
Meanwhile, there has been no NEPA where i dey for the past 6 weeks. Even this post sef is on generator.

I bought the smallest hosting plan that Hostgator has for a client and was expecting the usuall exchange rate of 200 naira to a dollar as enforced by CBN only to see an alert of about 24k. Guys, it's just $50 freaking dollars. I don't think i'll be buying anything in dollars for a while.

It's not only killing me, it's almost ending my career as a programmer.

This nation so far is the worst place to have this type of skill. No lite, no people to patronise you. You make a call to put forward a solution they slam the phone on you. Micro finance banks which cannot afford the big names, don't want you doing anything for them either.

Sometimes I wish to move to another nation where I would be king there, where do I go, Rwanda? This is why many people code malwares and use it... against their will.

Okay so I think I understand now..... I use PayPal to pay for hosting, Ads, Fiverr etc

So $5 is always $5

The last time someone paid me to use more than my PayPal funds, I didn't like the debit alert i got AT ALL so I'm sticking to PayPal

LOL I totally understand. An hacker was also telling me that Nigerians don't like to pay... If you tell them you found a vulnerability, they'll ignore you. And if you bring them down, they'll start threatening you.... Left for me, #BRINGTHEMALLDOWN
