Pastor Goodheart Ekwueme is the son of Nigeria's former vice-president Dr. Alex Ekwueme. Pastor Goodheart, as he is popularly called, was until Thursday, 13th October 2016 the resident pastor at the House On The Rock(HOTR) in Abuja. So that fateful Thursday, Pastor Goodheart announced to the Abuja assembly in a 15-minute conversation that that day would be his last in HOTR as resident pastor and that he has been released by the founder Pastor Paul Adefarasin .For many who have been with this pastor who served at HOTR for about eight years, it came as a shock and many are still down from this news.



Then on Sunday, 16th October 2016, Pastor Paul Adefarasin announced to the church members during the 4-hour service about Pastor Goodheart's resignation. There was a celebratory session for Pastor Goodheart who was away with his wife Abimbola for a spiritual retreat while a send-forth ceremony is being planned for the couple. Pastor Paul Adefarasin later explained to HOTR leaders, volunteers and staff that there was no bad blood between him and Pastor Goodheart but rather he encouraged them to obey God's plans for them. Pastor Paul further said that Pastor Goodheart served HOTR very well and his resignation was based on a call from God. He added that there was no misunderstanding of any kind between them.



For those not in the know, Pastor Goodheart is now the International Director of Horn of Revival Ministry (HORM), a global outreach ministry focused on taking the revival mandate around the world. He started out as a chartered accountant and external auditor, before accepting the call to serve as the pioneer resident pastor of House on the Rock, the Refuge in Nigeria’s capital city- Abuja, where he served faithfully for 17years. He is also an Author/Publisher, a preacher and teacher of God’s Word. He is happily married to Abimbola Ekwueme and they are blessed with three lovely sons and a beautiful daughter.
