As the unsettling for the free condition of Biafra proceeds, Edet Akpan, a resigned significant general from Akwa Ibom State, has clarified why it was outlandish for the general population of the south-south district of the nation to be a piece of it.

Nigeria battled an appalling three-year-old common war somewhere around 1967 and 1970, to stop Biafra, drove chiefly by the Igbos in south-east, from withdrawing.

Today’s Akwa Ibom, and different states in the south-south, were a piece of the south eastern locale at the time, and would have framed the breakaway republic if the severance had succeeded.

Star Biafra supporters have arranged a progression of challenges of late, bringing about fatal clampdown by security powers.

Nnamdi Kanu, the pioneer of the separatist gathering, Indigenous People of Biafra, was captured in 2015 and has stayed in detainment for over one year now, charged for asserted injustice.

“Absence of trust has dependably been on between the Igbo and the minorities,” Mr. Akpan, a previous executive general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), told PREMIUM TIMES in a meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
