Did u pay for the hotel lodge? did u need a UK VISA to stay in the lodge?

thank God for journey mercies

Yes o!
The hotel lodge was from private pocket o!

And they asked someone with an American green-card for his British visa...
He had none...

But she asked for out tickets to show we were indeed catching a flight the next morning...

But I answered this question in more details not more than 10 pages back, if you can read it up.

You can actually take your own jollof rice along.

I would have loved a British traditional meal instead...like steaks...you know something much more tasty.

Anyway at least they got me to my final destination.

There is a lounge in the airport, you go there. It's £20 per hour. 21hrs layover is crazy oh. Mine was 13hrs.

£20 pounds per hour

It is well.
I wi get there soon!

What special thing did they do at the lounge?

Please 20 pounds per hour in the lounge is expensive. would they allow me to stay at the airport for the 23 hour lay over if I do not sleep. would I require a uk transit visa. please has anyone experience virgin atlantic layover and what was the situation. were you allowed to stay at the airport to wait for your connecting flight despite that the lay over is a long one.

Yes you can stay in the very very large airport...

If you find a whole seat to yourself, you can stretch your legs and sleep...
Just that you are pregnant the comfort level may be very low, but if you are strong, which I know you are, you can do It & who would watch your luggage if you are alone...
But if you have company, the time would pass swiftly...when you take turns to sleep & watch your bags... smiley

thank you for your reply as per that I would not need a transit visa and I am able to stay at the airport to wait for my connecting flight despite having a long lay over of about 22 hours for virgin atlantic

Na wa o. Why should you take medicaid? Bros it's a No.

davichido:
My Wife
delivered our BBG last week in Brooklyn NY, she is asking for a discount on her total bill but the hospital is rather putting pressure on her to get MEDICAID for our baby and she can pay her own bill. Have anyone taken medicaid for their baby? any consequences?.

Thanks for your helpful responses as always.

Morning house, please I need an advice for a good friend of mine.she had her baby boy in Maryland , She was billed 4,100.66 dollars for lab test and she asked them before the test. How much it was. And the doctors office nurses said its the lab department that handles that. Now she got a mail giving her a break down of the lab test and charged her that huge amount just for test. She's confused . Please house any expenrice or advise. Thanks

Na to spread wrapper for ground sleep better sleep. Use your bag as pillow to avoid strange disappearance. Take a blanket from the plane for additional comfort.

Yes it was B2 and we declared birthing at the interview showing all correspondences.

We pray it's also a "breeze" for you.

Sweet narration!
Was hers a B1/B2 or just a B2?
If B1/B2, did she declare birthing at the visa interview?
DW is also flying KLM early December. ..but to LAX.
I'm escorting her and pray hours will also be a "breeze" grin

Plain and simple, tell her to tell them that the bill they gave her for test alone is the total cost of her hospital and Dr budget, that they should give her a discount o,if they know they want to collect their money.
But alas! If that shakara nor work, just tell her to jejely negotiate a payment plan o,I nor fit shout.

But wait o,did you say Maryland? Didn't she do her research? Most of us that are here have read that Maryland is an expensive state to birth. If this bill is just for test alone, text that doctors in some other states include in their Dr's bill which at times is about $2000,then she should tighten her belt for hospital and Dr's bill o.

Mary what? omg! You are a self pay patient. Insist on further further further negotiations/reductions. I bet you will get less than 70%. Maryland been cutting neck on hospital bill since 1906. Beware!

There is no discount anywhere. That "discount" either gets charged back to the government or to the rest of us who see our health insurance premiums go up by an average of 30% every single year, while you get to go home and pay nothing. As i have always said, if you cannot afford having a baby in the United States, please stay back in Nigeria.

She should negotiate a payment plan and pay every cent.

First question - why do you think you are entitled to medicaid? Have you ever paid medicaid taxes? It doesn't fall from the tree you know.

Second question - you obtained a visa by claiming to the VO that you were financially capable of paying for the cost of having a baby, including any accidental costs. If you had mentioned taking Medicaid payments, you would have been summarily denied a visa. Think again.

There is always going to be a record if you take government payouts, that will count against you when you apply for your next visa... and i hope you are denied at that time. It is unfair for you to accept free government many you do not qualify for. The rest of us don't get the luxury of demanding "discounts". The number 1 cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical bills... how is it you get discounts and the rest of us don't? If YOU were in the shoes of the average American, would you be as kind?

This is normal and is the consequence of the private insurance system of healthcare delivery that America has stubbornly (and unwisely) chosen to maintain. This is why VOs routinely mention how expensive healthcare is... they aren't just trying to not give people a visa. I went into a clinic to complain about a sore throat once, i saw the doctor for less than 5 minutes, it cost me over $300. As you said, welcome to America and yes, they found gold in her blood.

There's no law against carrying food. Only liquids.
I almost always carry my food (although I just buy at the airport and take through security... depending on where I buy from).

There is no law against carrying food on a flight. I don't think you can bring food from home and it will be allowed through security. You can buy food after security and board your flight though. That's the difference.

Looooool!!

I think people are confusing the US healthcare system with Canada/Europe. The US does not have free healthcare like Canada and Europe. One pays every penny for every treatment ones get be it a child or adult. Additionally, medicaid is only for US resident tax payers with very low-incomes and some US resident tax payers with long-term disability whose medical insurance might not cover.
