According to popular website Health Groove – a health visualisation site by Graphiq, Nigeria Has been Rate as the 15th most dangerous country to travel to in the world. The site explained that it compiled the list using the 2016 data from the Canadian government and The Global Health Data Exchange. It also went further to state that:

“The Canadian Travel Advice and Advisories data comprises four major categories — “exercise normal security precautions,” “exercise a high degree of caution,” “avoid nonessential travel” and “avoid all travel.” HealthGrove’s list includes countries with at least an “exercise a high degree of caution” rating or higher and nations are ranked by worsening travel advisories. Ties were broken by using the Travel Mortality Index, which provides an aggregate score representing the likelihood of death caused by travelling to a given country. The higher the index, the higher the probability of traveller death. The causes of death in the Index vary from diseases like Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS to causes like “interpersonal violence,” “exposure to forces of nature,” “collective violence” and “legal intervention.” The variation in causes explains why you’ll see France, for example, with a score (116.2), which is separated from that of Honduras (120.4) by only a few points”

It is in this regards that Nigeria takes the position of 15th out of the 118 countries that were rated. Ghana was rated 52nd with a Travel Advisory of Exercise a high degree of caution and a Travel Mortality Score of 295.4, Benin republic followed at the 51st position with a Travel Advisory of Exercise a high degree of caution and a Travel Mortality Score of 308.6, Kenya came is at 45th with a Travel Advisory of Exercise a high degree of caution (with regional advisories) and a Travel Mortality Score of 381.6, cameroon pitched its tent at 32nd with a Travel Advisory of Exercise a high degree of caution (with regional advisories) and a Travel Mortality Score of 526.8, while South Africa was rated 28th with a Travel Advisory of Exercise a high degree of caution and a Travel Mortality Score of 681.8, Sudan beat Nigeria 5 points to be rated at 20th with a Travel Advisory of Avoid non-essential travel (with regional advisories) and a Travel Mortality Score of 144.9.

Well i wont deny that boko haram terrorism contributed more than 50% to the situation, but what about niger delta militancy, cultism, kidnapping, adultnapping, fulani herdsmen, accidents due to bad roads and bad vehicles plying these roads etc. All these are factors we should look out for. For example i see russia on that list, m not surprised, they are currently battling an HIV/AIDS epidermic. What am saying, lets not put the entire blame on a particular religious fanatics....
