Dowry they said is a token to be paid to the bride's family in Africa, while in India it is paid to the groom's family.
Dowry has been a hindrance and curse to some ladies in Nigeria as it has denied them opportunity to marry their loved ones and has increased the baby mama trend. Some family members has even seen it as a way of enriching themselves especially in some part of Nigeria. As most of the ladies have been single because of the bill given to the intending groom.
Is it not possible for the bride to also pay bride price by the bride as well if it is possible.
