robosky02:

The Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON ) was initially started as a championship in Nigeria in 1991 and 1995 (known as the African Women's Championship until 2015) is an international women's football competition held every two years and sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
However it was not until 1998 that it became a biennial event endorsed by CAF.

Nigeria is the most successful nation is the tournament's history, having won a record 7 Times including the two championsship in 1991 and 1995 a totall of 9 titles, meaning they have won all but two of the previous tournaments.]

The competition has served as a qualifying tournament for the FIFA Women's World Cup every other tournament since its inception in 1991.
However in August 2015, the CAF Executive Committee decided to change the name of the tournament from the African Women's Championship to the Africa Women Cup of Nations, similar to the men's version, Africa Cup of Nations.

Yeah

But just as Real Madrid are deemed to have won 11 Champions League titles, despite the fact that 6 of those titles were won when the competition was known as the European cup, and was in a diff format to the present UCL; so too should the Super Falcons be deemed to have won 9 African titles.

In the opening match of the tournament Cameroon made their intention of winning their first ever title by dispatching EGYPT 2 - 0

Your first post made it look like they lost four titles

" The Super Falcons, who have won the AWCON competition for record seven times are gunning for an eighth title from 12 attempts 10 attempts"

In overall history, We are gunning for La Decima.... Our 10th title.

The AWCON (formerly AWC) all began in 1991. From 1998, it took on a new format but doesnt erase the records of '91 and '95.

The 1991 and 1995 Editions were on home-and-away basis but were played from first round to final round to produce a champion who will go on to be Africa's sole representative at the women's world cup.

Perpetua Nkwocha (now an Assistant coach with the team) has scored 32 career AWCON goals. She scored 11 goals in the 2010 edition held in South Africa.

Preparations are high in Limbe. We are all here to support the Nigerian team come tomorrow in Limbe. The team is lodging in a Hotel directly opposite the Nigerian Consulate Building in Buea. Buea is 25 minutes drive to Limbe.
Nigerians have a solidarity/ Patriotism second to none in West & Central Africa. When the team went out for training today, the Nigerian community came in the convoy and they shook the town. The ambiance was superb!!!
We look forward to tomorrow God willing! Good night from Cameroon.

Yeah though her weight may not be that helpful to her like we saw in the qualifiers against Senegal, but her brain is still quiet sharp.
