Have u had a situation in "NIGERIA" where a loved one had to be taken off life support (ventilator or feeding tube) because they were brain dead? And is the eqipment and facilities available in most hospitals in Nigeria for a doctor to say for sure that someone is brain dead?

whats the keeping someone on life support machines when you know they're never gonna wake up. even doctors will advice you to pull the plug. and yes poster, there are some hospitals that have life support machines in Nigeria but of course, its only the rich that can afford it.

There r hardly any facilities here for ascertaining that. Drs here rely mostly on clinical observations like the 'doll's eyes test' which u can do by urself. Turn the head of the unconcious patient while the eyes are open. Turning the head to the right should make the eyes go left & vice versa.
If this doesnt happen u can BEGIN to suspect brain death.
