I really want to read this book...even if it takes waiting more than i did before getting the pirated copy of "there was a country" i will wait patiently like a dog waiting for a child after a delicious meal (the child will either shit or vomit the food.) ivyy let me have the book now before i beat it out of you... Finally she is the best. I love her work.

Interesting exposé this is. I simply don't understand why some people have this mentality of punishing others or the PHD syndrome. How do they cope It's not only in the education sector this occurs and that's the more reasons we have less mentees cos few are willing to guide others officially and unofficially.

The excerpts is really detailed. Most professors here in Nigeria are just overtly lazy and ego-centric. During my B.Eng Thesis, i saw my so-called Professor just twice (To Get a Project Topic and To Submit) because he was the oldest in the department and does not have time for anyone.

Majority of our lecturers are distributing ignorance,NUC knows this and does not want to do anything.They were employed on political considerations and as such cannot contribute any knowledge to the academic development of the students.Hear this for first time,there are many lecturers that cannot make a correct sentence,but my joy is that a dull student knows all the unintelligent lecturers.

It's a pity we no longer have true investigative journalism in Nigeria. It would be really interesting to have an expose on what goes in in our universities and other institutions for that matter.

Nigerian lecturers are Demi gods no doubts. Just a very minute few are actually good lecturers willing to guide one through. What do you expect from a systems that's saddled with nepotism and tribalism in terms of employment.

I know of an engineering lecturer in a state university in the south east who can't solve simple change of subject of formula..

The capital of that state begins with letter O, the department begins with E. Investigative journalism is dead in this country. Quacks everywhere....

The book's excerpt speaks the bloody truth about our professors. Though there are a few good ones.
