It is becomimg a daily routine for groups and individuals to issues communiqués calling on the President to arrest and prosecute corrupt countrymen. Those accused belong to a community, thus community members should take them up for stealing the community's partrimony. I wonder if it is a crime for those in the know of graft to front load complaint with evidence. The President has so much on his hands, including preventing and fighting corruption. In situations of indifference by the leadership, wouldnt it be wise for whistle blowers to take up the gauntlet? Shouldnt community members sue corrupt community members instead of waiting on government to act.

When James Ibori was under trial for stealing Delta State's funds, a handful of his kinsmen took to the streets and courts singing his praises, calling his trial a persecution. Same thing happened in Cecilia Ibru's case. Both pleaded guilty to stealing the resources under their care.

When Tinubu's bio data falsely claimed that he attended Government College Ibadan and University of Chicago or is it Chicago State University, Gani Fawehinmi tried to prosecute him for certificate forgery but was thwarted by the likes of Femi Falana. His group did not buy into Gani's argument that false claims is forgery and forgery, corruption. Gani was pelted with sachets of pure water by political thugs at Igbosere magistrate court for trying to make the law take its cause. Tinubu is yet to clear his name and his claims open to interpretation - he did not attain the levels of education claimed.

As a smart alec he partnered 'activists and civil society groups' borrowing their credibility to survive. Today he has the temerity to refer to others as being corrupt. The Nation, his media outfit tries to sell him across Nigeria as a transparent, progressive and a dogged fighter. What a pity! Falana's tactic support gave him the leverage to weather the storm. Orji Kalu did not proof his claims of attending Government College Umuahia, Abdulhamid Kwara one time Leader of Nasarawa State House of Assembly could not proof how he came about B.sc Political Science from University of Jos.

El-rufai told the Nigerian Senate to award lands to their enemies when they become FCT minister when queried over land allocations to his family members and cronies. He too claims to be an 'activist' fighting corruption. In Femi Fani Kayode's case, the Judge threw out the case on the grounds that the evidence act did not contemplate computer generated statement of account. The substance of the case did not matter to the Judge. But must everything be copiously stated in the evidence act? Must the evidence act be amended each time there is an innovation in society? Shouldnt our legal system be dynamic? Fani Kayode should be allowed to proof how his ward earned hundreds of millions. He should answer to what he did with funds under his care as aviation minister. What about Mama Peace, Abba Ruma, Babachir, Kyari, Aborishade etc.

The Nigerian style is to infringe on the law, criticize government, then whip up sentiments when charged to court. Each time a member of the elite class is charged to court, bands of sycophants accompany them singing praise songs and calling the process a witch hunt.
Falana claims to have made fighting social ills a lifetime battle but failed to take the battle to his friend and expects to be taken serious.
