ThisDay: Jonathan Heads Soludo’s Campaign C’ttee

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday announced a 36-man campaign committee that would drive the campaign of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the party’s governorship candidate in the February 6, 2010 governorship election in Anambra State.

The committee, which would be inaugurated next Tuesday is headed by Vice President Goodluck; Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed.

Other members of the campaign committee as contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Prof. Ahmed Alkali include National Organising Secretary, Prince Uche Secondus; National Woman Leader, Hajiya Inna Ciroma, and Chief Whip, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha. Also in the committee are all PDP state governors, Senators and members of the House of Representatives from the South East and National Vice Chairman, South East of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh.

Others are Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan, of Delta State; Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State; Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State;Alao Akala of Oyo State; all PDP ministers from the South East; Chief Jim Nwobodo, former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Ayim Pius Anyim; former Senate President; Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu; Prof. Jerry Gana; Senator Femi Kila, Senator Onyeabo Obi; Henry Balogu, Onyeachi Ibezue and Chief Maduka Anene Olisa.

Also in the campaign team are Azubuike Eze, Senator Bala Adamu Kariya, Dr. Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu, Chief Cletus Ibeto, Chief Arthur Eze, Chief Simon Okeke, Senator Mike Ajaegbo, Gen. Lawrence Onoja and Chuks Udemezue.

Dr. Musa Babayo, Deputy National Secretary of PDP will serve as Secretary to the Committee.

They are all "criminals" indeed, yet being unconvicted,  possess the constitutional right to contest.

Truth be told, 99% of you people are criminals by your implied definition.

People should not underestimate the significance of the Anambra election. It puts this
state in the annals of history. For a long tme to come, Anambra will be a beacon for
democracy in this country. Edo, Ondo and Ekiti will follow in that order.

In the push towards 2011, success in these states will determine the direction of change.
It is very good for the polity. That is why we are looking foward to the elections. It will
show how serious we are with the electoral reforms, how ready INEC is and many
other indicators.

Anambrarians must put their best foot foward.

Is that so?,well do you know that president obama and vice president biden personally campaigned for the new jersey governor Jon corzine(democrat) in the just concluded nov 2009 elections,which he lost by the way
so chill out theres no big deal,as long as its honest campaigning

There is nothing wrong with the idea of a sitting VP campaigning for Soludo . . . . afterall Barack Obama always campaign for his party's candidates, just as he did for Jon Corzine of New Jersey and that of the state of virginia guber candidate.

I'm not against him campaigning for Soludo, but heading his Campaign committe? Being a member is bad enough if you ask me, but, he had to head it!

One would think he was too busy running his own affairs as vice president which the citizens elected him to do, than running around heading Soludo's campaign committee. Like I said, it doesen't sound right!

These guys want to rig massively and surgically too. It was tried in Ekiti and
he was the arrowhead. By now, he must have got his act in place with
a'' righteous '' returning officer in place.
