I Moved To China For Nigeria’s Sake — Mikel Obi by damiloladuke: 8:18am On Jan 12, 2017
Super Eagles captain and former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has explained his recent move to the Chinese Premier League team ,Tianjin Teda.

According to him , despite the fact that he will be getting double his former pay in China, the 29 year old insist the move wasn’t all about money but primarily done to aid Nigeria’s push to be at the 2018 World Cup in Brazil.

“I could easily have stayed in Chelsea for the remaining six months of my contract but it won’t be in the best interest of my nation, as they need me match fit when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers resume”, Mikel told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I seriously need matches to stay fit for Nigeria. Nigerians don’t deserve to miss out of the World Cup after back to back failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations”.

Loved it! It locks my apps and takes a pic of anyone who tries to get in my tablet! Good protection. Directly hide any photos, no need to move memory card to phone memory. Love it. Highly recommended. Leo privacy.https:///leoforum1

Kikikikiki

Nigga is damn hilarious grin

Messi is the second best player in the world (kill yourself), has enough playing time at Barca, isn't even the only star in Argentina

Yet he's still yet to record an international success with the team

And you're here telling me playing for Tianjin will enable you be in better shape

If he wanted to be in good form, why not join a more competitive league like La Liga (Valencia) or Ligue 1 (Marseille)

I admire his sense of patriotism when he had to pay the hotel bills of the Dream Team in Brazil to avoid national embarrassment for NFF.
Wishing him success in China

Let nobody ever cast any stone on this guy here. Great move bro. Football is all about playing and staying fit and not just earning salary and fading away like the morning stars. It's been a long time coming mikel. Wishing you a great experience in Asia. We also hope you'll do us proud come 2018.

PS: how can you ever satisfy people? The same people who have been shouting themselves hoarse because of mikel 's refusal to leave Chelsea are now here debating whether he left because of pay or not Mikel no send all of una. Na una money abi na una career?
