An Open Letter to Tonto And Churchill, By Paulcy Cyprian Iwuala

Good morning world. Many times I have seen people write about their crush, their idol and people they cherish so much. I doubt if I have ever penned down how much I adored anyone, but today, I will do it and I'm directing it to Oladunni Churchill, Tonto Dike's husband.

Churchill, when I first heard about you and Tonto, I was full of envy and jealousy. This is because obviously, I'm not from the elites family like the Obasanjos. And because money can buy different kinds of love and mine can't buy the kind yours would, if you know what I mean..

Churchill, I have met your wife and we have been very good friends. It wasn't in the time of fancy phones and pictures, so we didn't have much memory in pictures. We had decent fun times together. Nothing was hidden. We boarded ABC transport from Port Harcourt to Lagos when she was going to shoot her first movie, directed by my very good friend, Nwabueze (Creative Image Creations).

We ended sleeping in the bus on our way because Redeemed Church was so packed that there was no road to pass. We got to Lagos in the morning. She faced some setbacks and I was there to stand in and made her get about her first role in a movie as a sub lead, which she professionally and perfectly did.

And then, the slap in the movie that Mercy Johnson didn't take well. Mercy Johnson actually returned the slap, which of course wasn't in the script. I'm wondering if that is the reason for their enmity since then, but I'm glad they resolved their issues. And Mercy Johnson, as lovely as she is, took it well, kudos to her sense of maturity, but that is not the reason for this post.

Dear Churchill, to cut the story short, Tonto Dike is a very lovely woman. We spent days together. We laughed and cried together in my friend's house, Clems Onyeka (RIP). We shared everything like we were sisters and brothers. Truly, we might have shared a kiss but she was not that lose to get down with.

Tonto is a mother, a friend and above all, a kindhearted girl. And Godly too. Marriages come with their pressures but we must stay strong. We can only succeed when we remember the reason we said 'I do'. Why did you say I do, Churchill? And, dear Tonto, I'm not afraid that you will always be happy. You are a good girl, a very wonderful person, the kind that comes for filming and end up giving out the money she was paid for the movie. Yes, we had our bad sides but I'm very certain it is a side I wil live with if given the opportunity.

Therefore, before this issue of marriage gets much out of hand, I want Mr and Mrs Churchill to read this and understand that they have to retrace their steps and make it work for them. I love you both. I hope this gets to you both to get your shit together before the public help you do that. And Tonto is my crush. Anytime.
