I would say that video games are terrible for kids especially for those who have attention deficiency disorder (ADD), i knew a kid who was always like this. Wherever he went he was always punching and kicking the air and simulating video game enviroments. Video games are a factor that makes young students not to pay attention in class. |

That would depend on what kind of computer games, although it does not make them dumb, but somewhat act obnoxious. Certain strategy games makes people guys even more intelligent because before you execute, you have to think outside the box. |

For one thing Dumb people can't even play computer games in the first place. It's too much of it that is bad, not in the sense that it makes the player dumb but in the sense that it takes all your time. Playing computer games have been proven to increase IQ. you really have to be sharp to play these games. |

for me, i feel video games helps one's sense of thinking. i started playing nitendo,sega, atari and the likes . that was in pry school. currently am working (after graduating from the university ofcourse) and still during my spare time-i engage in a duel with my kid brother. (it helps to calm oneself).  but it shud be done in moderation-imagin a family man playing PS3 for 5 hrs!!!! thats irresposible.  most ladies (general perception) feel that its childish, well, they are entiltled to their own opinions. but as a (obviously drunk) poster once said in NL "who no like am, make him/her go shit for their pant" |

I don't think there's maturity in this thread, Someone once posted, " does romance novel make women stupid?" Now here is another one to the opposite sex " Does computer game make men stupid?". Both thread are very silly and immature. I don't know if the poster knows anyone who computer games has made silly. On the contrary, games like scrabble, chess and sudoko whether played on computer or board helps in brain development. QED |

Abegi. Both reading Romance novels and playing videogames make us smarter. The novels improve vocabulary. Videogames do too. After all, they do have storylines and they're mostly narrated, and the factual ones are like interactive history classes (earlier call of duty games and medal of honour and others) and they help the brain, hand-eye coordination, reflexes among other things. Books help too, but I'd say gaming helps better. Until it becomes an addiction that is. lol |

videogames makes people smart, whichever way you look at it. the only problem is that it takes away precious time that could have been used for something better. i fall in the A's bracket of academics, but i tell you the difference btw 70/100 or 90/100 might just be arsenal vs manchester united, a fixture i've played over a million times. hope arsenal wins the best of 3 games tonight. |
