JOB DESCRIPTION

The function of the Field Engineer is to act as the mobile field service engineer on assigned open tickets and work in collaboration with senior engineering staff members, Response Center, and logistics to resolve customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion in order to maintain maximum customer satisfaction second to none.

The Field Engineer installs, troubleshoots and maintains an extensive variety of products and equipment. Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed. Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers’ needs.

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications in area of specialty and 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity, leadership, and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

The following are principal duties of the Field Engineer:
Leadership and Management
Represent GLAND in a positive and professional manner
Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients and achieve company goals
Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions
Identify wasteful or inefficient practices and other unnecessary expenses to maintain a strong “Index of 1”
Ensure that workers are following all safety guidelines, reports violations to management.


Service Delivery

Have a thorough working knowledge of GLAND’s ticketing system
Have a thorough understanding of Entitlement and Under-entitlement pertaining to service contracts and coverage levels.
Has a thorough understanding of and practices techniques to prevent ESD damage to components.
Perform remedial repair activities on customer site.
Perform hardware installations.
Perform assignments as directed by Response Center Technicians or senior technical staff.
Require infrequent backline support while performing remedial activities on-site.
Recognize situations requiring a service call Escalation and follows proper Escalation Procedures.
Provide the support required to close service events promptly, within the SLA and to the satisfaction of the customer (“fix the customer”)
Provides timely, accurate and unambiguous updates to the ticketing system
As needed, communicates frequently with customers and other GLAND personnel
Validating actual problem and validating correct parts to be used for service
Effective 'debrief' and reporting of service call for future enhancements
Travel to and from customer locations (usually by car), documenting work activity and maintaining administrative paperwork.


GLAND Computer Service

Arrive at work, job sites, and meetings on time and prepared
Software training including, but not limited to, servers, storage and networking equipment.
Hardware training including, but not limited to servers, storage and networking equipment.
Test various parts used for service
Ongoing training to enhance individual technical competency
Train other engineers
Ability to work with and enhance the team (synergy) concept
Follow company guidelines for SLA (Service Level Agreement) for responding to customer calls.
Follow Company Procedure for Parts Supply for Customer Service.
Follow appropriate procedures, either Software or Hardware, to resolve the issue
Communicate issue and problem resolution notes back to Response Center
Submit request for parts required for customer issue resolution as per the Parts Request Procedure
Work within established guidelines and procedures.
Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner. Appropriate customer facing dress required.
Perform any other duties assigned by your manager

Strong Troubleshooting Skills and technical aptitude.
Minimum directly related experience of 2+ years.
Technical Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Technical Certifications.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and transparent management programme finances in line with recognised accounting/auditing standards and Gland oil and Gas procedures, as well as the development of new systems to support a growing programme.

Key areas of responsibility:
Lead in financial management, system development and line management of financial staff for GOG.
Lead in developing capacity support and collaborative relationships with GLAND’S staff and Partners to ensure effective financial management across the board.
Manage payroll related activities (including advising team leaders on appropriate salary levels.
Develop and manage human resources procedures.
Support team leaders in relation to recruitment processes and human resources matters.
Lead development and maintenance of strong control environment (bank reconciliations and other control accounts, performance management data, etc)
Manage performance of hard & software accounting systems, leading improvement and system enhancement work, ensuring good housekeeping.

QUALIFICATION

Minimum of 3year working experience.

Minimum of HND.

Formulating IT strategies, monitoring and maintenance of all systems, application services and IT automation infrastructure in the company.
To ensure the deployment of new applications; identification of key business requirements and leadership of the development of IT solutions; and management of the relationships with the business lines and functional departments and developing strong contacts with the various arms of the company.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for recommending and establishing appropriate IT systems and processes for the company and evaluating deployed technology to ensure compatibility and effectiveness.
Provide direction in addressing a wide range of problems involving network architecture; hardware and software; server administration; wireless networking; and information management.
Responsible for developing cohesive and homogenous IT structure
Responsible for managing and maintaining the IT unit
Responsible for the implementation of the various aspects of the company’s ICT Architecture
Administration of all ICT infrastructure
Vendor(s)/service provider management
Monitor outsourced company IT Processes (if any)
Responsible for developing policies and procedures for IT acquisition and utilization.
Responsible for monitoring and managing systems- gateway devices (routers, switches, firewalls and WAN systems) and the server systems (the network server, e-mail server, ISA server and database) for the company
Responsible for managing the disaster recovery process
Responsible for managing IT support functions and reviewing/recommending appropriate alternative system options.

Skills/Knowledge
Strong technical skills with the ability to address a wide range of problems including: - network architecture; hardware and software; server administration; wireless networking; and information management.
Demonstrated competence in the management of a wide range of transmission and networking systems
Strong skills in minimizing ‘down time’ and providing efficient and reliable resources.
Excellent skills in protecting the security & stability of the company’s IT systems at all times
Demonstrated experience in streamlining and automating IT tasks such as network monitoring, helpdesk functions, or computer deployment
