Video: Omoni Oboli cries out as Lagos area boys attack their movie set


The Nollywood actress shared the footage of an alteration between members of her crew and some area boys in Lagos and called on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to intervene.

"#CurrentSituation I am totally fed up! Shooting in Lagos State is such a difficult experience. I've been settling area boys everyday yet they still fight us. The other day, they broke a bottle to stab my crew and seized my van key. You have to settle different factions. I'm a tax paying citizen of Lagos State. As filmmakers, we pay taxes even on a loss. Na beg we dey beg o @akinwunmiambode help us. We are fed up!!! So many people are getting paid on this set. We are bringing commerce and boosting the economy. Pls help!!! I'm impressed on how the guy in cap handled it. Thugs fear police, you don't have to fight them, get them arrested, that's all it takes.

in fact, the nuisance constituted by those area boys or thugs cannot be over emphasised.... they feel they are untouchable....... harassing people anyhow
if you want to build, they will disturb you to pay them, I just wonder if thuggery is now a job because nobody seem to be concerned in dealing with them.

Politicians empowered this boys and encouraged their violence.
I bet one of them will even be boasting that, even if you arrest them, the will be out before 24hrs.

One of this days i was free so i took my LT VOLKSWAGEN BUS to cruise from Ifo Ogun State to Oshodi at a particular Bus Stop b4 Sango popularly know as (Joju)....as this agbero guy sighted me he knew am not a conversant dude .d next thing is for him to drag my Conductor and Demand Owo da?b4 Conductor could say Jack/Robinson he decended on him heavily and gave my Condutor d best beating!Unlucky 4 my Conductor he's an Elderly...so he did not Touch him neither did i.

I offload all d passengers and headed back home as if nothing happend...

Then later returned to the Spot with d help of my Friend in d Nigerian Military Ikeja..i went with my Combo space bus. Arrived at d Location like Kilode....Omo come see beating ooo....for this guy. D rest of Qualiqs fled.....he was already Urinating.....on himself .i even begin to pity him....to cut d long story shot we drove him almost getting to Ikeja b4 i pleaded with my Friend to Realease him.Since that time if he sights me....its different form of Salute here and there!.

I wish to say if u r new with them Do normal (Shey normal) else they will (fie pa star) make jest of u or embarras u) as Bad as they r they also hv their good days when u look right and left,when u need Naija police to come to your aid but they r not near.its them that will first defend u.those that stays in remote areas where no much houses knows what am saying

Sometimes I am almost pushed to tears when i see that 99.9% of the touts in Lagos are y.orubas...I mean they do absolutely nothing other than positioning themselves at almost all the bustops,junctions and corners of the city asking for money. Looking rough and tattered meanwhile their I.gbo counterparts are in idumota, iddo,ladipo,Ikeja,etc doing legitimate business.. Even h.ausas are into the bureau de change business, clothing business etc around the city..

Lagos has passed a law banning the activities of omonile and area boys

Just get them arrest and prosecuted
