some students are desprate. Probably, they did d registration while still awaiting d result. I remember vividly in 2008 when some students forged d grades while doing d registration. Unfortunately for them during clearance, the online grades were not d same with the ones on d statement of result and they were asked to face TANKE. A student who had filled in C5 in English Language was discovered to hve scored less. STOP BLAMING D CAFE ATTENDANT, many of these students nowaday are going about with COSMETIC RESULTS

Are you sure you really typed this

You and I know that education in Nigeria has become spoiled rotten, to the extent that maggots and worms are clubbing in it.....

You are asking about 1000, i believe ONE MILLION STUDENTS EVERY YEAR EITHER FORGE THEIR RESULTS OR ENGAGE IN EXAM MALPRACTICES OR OTHER EXAM VICES....

Abeg make we hear word jare///
I just cannot believe that students would upload fake result?? were they thinking that the school would not cross check or what??
now that kasala has burst what is their gain??

Lol... You never talk Wetin dey pain you. 1000 out of how many you no tell us na. Go ask JAMB the number of applicants to Unilorin each year.

Most of them has already confessed that the cafes helping them to register during the post UTME process encouraged them to 'inflate' their grades for better chances of admission.
But it's a no brainer cuz they were caught eventually.

Let them go to court na.
I just cannot believe that students would upload fake result?? were they thinking that the school would not cross check or what??

how can over 1000 students decide to upload fake result, if it happens to 20 students we can say it is deliberate but 1000 students haba. And the school discovered this after paying acceptance fee of #20,000.
they should better thank their star now, what if they have reached final year b4 discovering

BREAKING: UNILORIN Finally Reacts to Protest by candidates.

In line with the protest which held in the University of Ilorin yesterday by some candidates who were offered provisional admission into the Institution, the University management has reacted to the development.

In a reaction gotten by Lade's Signatory, The Head corporate affairs of the Institution, Mr. Kunle Akogun said it was wrong to address the students as 'Unilorin students' as they are just admission seekers who have not been officially authenticated.

He also noted that the candidates probably didn’t know the larger implication of what they have done, which is plain forgery and examination malpractice.

In his words;

"In the first place, it was wrong to address the protesters as “Unilorin students”, as they are just admission seekers whose provisional admissions are yet to be officially authenticated."

"Out of the 103,000 that made Unilorin their first choice, over 65,000 met the cut-off mark. But our admission quota is just about 10,000."

"And with the cancellation of post-UTME screening by the Federal Government, the University had to device other means to screen the candidates in order to get the number we want."
"Ab-initio, we decided against physical screening of the candidates to avoid inviting them to Ilorin."

"All qualified candidates were then directed to upload their five best subjects, three of which must be directly relevant to their proposed courses of study."

"It was clearly stated that any misinformation or wrong input of subjects or scores would lead to automatic disqualification’"

"So, on the basis of what the candidates uploaded, they were allocated scores and those that were found worthy were given admission."

"After that, we asked them to proceed to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE acceptance fee"

"But we still had to carry out further screening of their certificates to confirm the veracity of the scores they uploaded, which gave them the admission."

"At the University of Ilorin, our tradition is to screen our students both at the entry and exit points. So, if anybody gained admission through false qualification and he/she is not detected at the entry point, he/she would be detected during the screening at the exit point and he would not be allowed to graduate."

"So, we did the same thing in this circumstance and we discovered that some of those admitted had cheated and this had given them undue advantage over other candidates"

"And this is where the Administration said that anybody that cheated should not be allowed to come in."

"Please note that these candidates probably didn’t know the larger implication of what they have done, which is plain forgery and examination malpractice. These are criminal offences that are punishable under the laws of the country."

"If these guys do not soft-pedal in their misguided advocacy, the University authority can be forced to go the extra mile of handing them over to the law enforcement agencies for necessary disciplinary actions. We have resisted the urge to take such action so far because they are infants who still have a long way to go in life!"

Maami that shows the rot in the education sector and the nonchalant lackadaisical attitude of the federal government in curbing the menace.....

This is uncalled for after the collection of acceptance fee. I think there should be a proper screening before the payment of acceptance fee. Make our government should act on it.

There's a university currently indicted in a litigation against one of their students. This student was given final clearance by this same university, was mobilized for service, given statement of result and his results were approved by the senate. This student rounded off his service 2015 and went to the school last year to request year, only to be told he was having 12 carryovers. How was he cleared? How was he mobilized? How did senate approve his results? The school has already been summoned by the court as we speak.

Big lies on the blog

Yes, the NUC should intervene to help arrest these young fraudulent Nigerians. That is how they start until they grow up to start padding anything and everything.
You can not pad your result to go to UNILORIN. If you do, you'll be detected and your admission would be revoked, even after payment of acceptance fee.
Some parents are collaborators in this heinous crime.

i dont blame the man, its because his child is not among them. Why im just angry is that they claim that we should upload the right grades but we were not given the opportunity to check if the grades we uploaded were correct. Pure Nigeria nature. Thumbs up Unilorin, the future awaits you

You guys uploaded false result and still have the gut to protest. After uploading your documents during the registration your attested to the authenticity of what was uploaded only for the school to discover during clearance that you uploaded false result. You guys should take responsibility for your mistake and learn from it.
You are not in our shoes, you just don't understand anything. I rest my case, God take control
