Meaning: A long distance relationship can be said to
mean relationship between two people who live afar
apart and so are unable to meet on a frequent basis.
This both parties in the relationship are unable to meet
for a long period of time, it could also be due to one or
two things which might be an unforeseen circumstance.
Long distance relationship is also all about living afar
from each other, they could also be living in the same
area/community but are unable to see/meet for a long
period of time. This could also be likened to a long
distance relationship .

RELATIONSHIP:
This is very common in every long distance
relationships, each individual is unable or has difficulty
in judging the state of the relationship. This is where
lack of trust comes in even though they try hard as
possible to believe everything they tell each other. In a
situation of a long distance relationship where the guy
puts a call to his girlfriend and she picks after ringing
for the 5 time , suspicions comes in whether the girl
was with another guy because his not around. This is
one of the major effects of long distance relationships.


HIGH EXPECTATIONS BY PARTNERS FOR THE
QUALITY OF FACE TO FACE MEETINGS:

Yeah this can be likened to be a good effect because it
fosters the love between compared to a relationship
(not marriage) where both parties see each other very
often. Once they fix a meeting date both parties will
plan or put in place a lot things in place to make the
meeting romantic, unique and lovely , but on the other
where both parties expect a lot from each other during
their meeting and less came from both ends, this will
start putting doubts in their mind whether they still love
each other like before. Such relationship is on the verge
of breaking up.


ANXIETY :
Long distance causes a lot of anxiety amidst both
parties because will be dreaming and fantasying about
the day they will meet , sometimes both parties might
not be able to sleep before of the anxiety and this can
be of bad effects physically when it gets too much to
the extent that the anxiety comes very often.


COMMUNICATION PROBLEM:
Here we go again with one of the major effects of long
distance relationships, long distance discourages
communications mostly. Both parties will engage in
activities that will keep them busy to the extent they
wont remember to keep in touch with each other. The
purposely indulge themselves in such activities due to
the long distance between them.


ABSENCE OF PHYSICAL SUPPORT:
There will be some time in the relationship where one
one of the parties will want to embark on a project
where he/she is going to need physical support from
the other end and if care is not taken the party being
unable to receive physical support from the other end
will demotivate such party and the project might end up
being unsuccessful.


DEPRESSION/LONELINESS:
This happens in all relationship though the rate and
level differs, in a long distance relationship depression
happens often because of the inability to access or see
each other frequently . this is what leads to loneliness,
here the relationship is at stake if a third comes in and
tries to take one of the party away. Such party been
planned to take away might consider it as a good option
due to the fact he/she lacks the presence of the other
party.


DEPRECIATION IN THE RELATIONSHIP:
A long distance relationship requires a lot of dedication
and time to keep it going, if care is not taken the
relationship is at the verge of breaking up because once
there is no dedication or trust in the relationship, the
relationship will start to depreciate and with time both
parties will end up going their separate ways.
