EPISODE 14

“ Sorry about that” Jake said as he wrapped his arms around tomiwa’s waist as they danced. Having had enough of Angela’s invasion of his privacy during their dance romp, he opted to switch partners with Wilfred, who calmly agreed.
“It’s not your fault” Tomiwa replied with a smile as she looked at him straight in the eye while moving her hips to the rhythm of the song. “It would have been embarrassing if you had refused her offer. Even if I don’t mind” she muttered the last part, making him laugh.
“You worry too much for your own good, you know that?” he chuckled.
She shrugged. “ I can’t help it”
“ So..” he began. “ I bought two tickets for the movie Deadpool,.I was wondering if you would…”
“..like to go with you” she concluded, smiling.
“Well, yeah” he nodded.
“Jake” she said softly. “ You already know what my answer is”
“Well, I can never be sure. It’s not every movie a girl might want to see” he replied.
“True” she laughed softly in agreement. “But in my case, I’ll see any movie you want”
“ Really?” he raised an eyebrow at her.
“Really” she answered. “I trust your choices” she added and leaned her forehead against his, making him glow pink.
“Jake” she stared at him questioningly. “ You know you don’t need to be tense around me anymore.”
“I’m not shy” he argued, but the look on his face gave him away.
“Oh, really?” she smiled slyly and placed her palm over his bare chest at the left side. “Then why is your heart beating fast like someone who ran a marathon”
He remained silent.
She sighed and became serious. “Remember, Jake. We are an item now, even though we haven’t told others. So no tension should be around us, okay?”
“Yeah, I know” he replied “ It’s just… this dating of a thing. I’m new to it and I don’t want to mess it up”
“ You haven’t asked a girl out before?” she raised an eyebrow at his confession. Some one as charming and good looking as him? It sounded so…impossible.
“ No” he replied as another blush made it’s way to his cheeks, confirming the truth of his statement “I didn’t know the right words to use or what to say at all. Or rather put, I was scared”
“of?” she prodded.
“Rejection” he answered, a sad smile coming to his face, before he replaced it with a mischievious grin. “ Besides, I spent my childhood frustrating and tormenting Daniel. It was so much fun.” He chuckled.
She shook her head at him with a smile. “ You are not serious” she giggled
“ How long have you known Daniel?” she asked
“Since time immemorial” he grinned.
“Jake!!” she pouted
“Well…” He said “We go way back. More than 8 years now”
“You could be mistaken for brothers” she smiled.
“Hmmm” he replied and then looked upwards the sky. She followed his eyes and looked up.
“It’s a beautiful night” she whispered.
“Not as beautiful as you” he replied, smiling at her. She blushed for a moment before smiling and pecking him lightly on his cheek, stunning him a little.
“Thanks, ill keep that in mind” she winked.

“Ann, that wasn’t fair” Daniel pouted as he wrapped his arms around her waist with her back leaning against him. He sighed comfortingly as his hands felt the texture and temperature of her cold skin.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” she said innocently as she leaned her head backwards into his chest.
“You know what I am talking about” he insisted.
“Nope” she giggled and placed her hand around his and moved along with him to the rhythm of the song. It was currently a slow one.
“Who denies a celebrant of his birthday present on his birthday? Who does that?” he frowned
“I already gave you your present” she tilted her head towards him and smiled innocently again.
“I meant the other one!!!” he cried out in frustration. Was she having fun teasing him like this?
“Oh that one” she said in mock realization.
“Yes” he rolled his eyes “ That one”
“Tell you what” she said with a sly smile and ran her lips up his jaw until she reached his ear and then whispered “ Tell the DJ to put a fast paced song and if you can last long with me on the dance floor and impress me, then you get it” she concluded and nipped the shell of his ear, before licking it and blowing breeze on it. That was enough to heat him up. Oh, what the anticipation of a kiss can do to a guy. Oh well. He left her to go to the DJ and whispered to him. The DJ smiled understandably and changed the song to “Give it up to me” by Sean Paul and Keisha Cole. The crowd erupted in glee and everyone began to dance wildly. Daniel smile at this. He is so throwing another beach party next year. He glanced to wards Annabelle and saw her beckoning to him with her index finger in a ‘come here’ fashion, a teasing smile on her face. He moved towards her and it began.
They engaged in a heated dance and she wrapped her hands around him, wriggling her hips before pushing him back with her hands and walking away, purposefully adding more sway to her hips.
‘ Not so fast’ Daniel thought as he quickly blocked her way. She smiled teasingly at him which he returned ad he grabbed her hands, swaying her and spinning her around before catching her and putting her right hand around his neck and raised her left leg up, wrapping it around his waist and running his hand up her thigh. Their dirty dancing had gathered the attention of the attendants and they began to cheer for them. Annabelle untangled herself and twirled around before bending down sensually and bumping his crotch with her behind which brought out loud cheers and whistles from the guys. He moved to grab her but she stopped him with her index finger to his chest and pushing him backwards a bit. She herself danced her way towards him but he moved backwards in a moonwalking fashion which brought out more chants again.
“Wow” Tomiwa said in admiration as she watched the couple dance. “ You were right, he can dance”
“Told ya” Jake said as he slung his arm around her , still careful not to touch any intimate place.
“I never knew he had it in him” she giggled. “ And yet he will be forming gentle boy in class. Same goes to you too” she smiled at him and he pouted. “It’s even the gentle ones that one should be wary off”
“Na you sabi” he replied sticking out his tongue at her
Daniel had pulled Annabelle with her back against his chest and he caressed her thighs with his hands, before running them upwards unto her taut stomach and pinching her flesh. She gasped a bit, but he wasn’t done as he released her momentarily and spun her around before lifting her and holding her to him as she wrapped her arms and legs around him and they paused like that just in time for the final beat of the song. The crowd cheered and Daniel was hailed as he set her down. Sharon meanwhile was watching with her arms folded and a scowl on her face.
“So..” Daniel panted as he stared at Annabelle. “ How was it?”. The crowd had began to disperse.
“Better than I expected” she smiled. “ You’ll get it later tonight” she winked and walked away.
‘You bet I will’ he smirked at her retreating figure.
“DAN, MA NIGGA!!” Jake cried out as he put an arm around his friend and ruffled his hair.
“Oga, you no dey hear word abi” Daniel grumbled as he smoothened his hair. “ Watch the hair”
“Guy, go siddown one side, jare” Jake replied. “ Because you don shine, you wan show yourself abi?”
“Na you sabi” Daniel smiled.

The party was soon over and after lots of thanks and praises to Daniel, everyone dispersed and went to their separate routes . Jake opted to walk Tomiwa and Sharon to the hostel, while Daniel escorted Annabelle to her apartment.
“You’re not going to stay the night?” she teased as they reached her door.
“Nah” he smiled. “Probably next time” he teased back.
“I’ll hold you to it” she laughed and then smiled at him. “ Thank’s Dan. I had a wonderful night. It’s been a long time I had such fun.”
“Well, truth be told” he replied. “ You also made my birthday a memorable one. So i guess we are even.”
“Yeah” she replied “ I guess we are”
A minute of silence passed as they looked each other in the eye. Then they leaned towards each other, their eyes closed and their foreheads touching. Their lips were inches apart……..
RING!! RING!! RING!!
They were interrupted by the shrill sound of Daniel’s ringtone, spoiling the moment and they groaned simultaneously in annoyance.
“Seriously?!!” Daniel screamed in frustration, then fished out his phone before looking at the ID.
It was Jake.
“Jake” Daniel growled. “ You better have a good reason for calling”
“Well well well” a chilling but familiar voice came from the other end. It was a voice he had heard before. “ Hello, Daniel. I hope you had a nice birthday party.”
“Luke” Daniel growled in anger. Annabelle’s ears perked up at the sound of his name.
“Unfortunately for you and fortunately for me” Luke laughed at the other end. “the party is not over and I have planned one of my own and can you guess who are the MVP’s? Your bossom friend Jacob and Your dear lovely mother.”
Daniel boiled in rage at the information and he clenched the phone tighter.
“Listen, you monster!” He cried out. “ If you lay a finger on any one of them…”
“You are in no position to make treats, boy” Luke spat, all traces of humor gone in his voice. “ I’m in that abandoned warehouse a few distance from your school. If you want them unharmed, you know what to do. I told you I always get what I want. I’ll see you there” he concluded and cut the call.
Daniel screamed in rage and punched the wall in anger.
“Ann” he whispered after calming down. “ We have a problem”

EPISODE 15

“Argh” Esther moaned in pain as she came to consciousness. “What happened?”
One moment she was driving towards home after visiting her son to give him his birthday present, The next, she was well… here.
Here in question was a spacious room with lots of boxes around her, the only other object occupying the room was a dim bulb which glowed above her head producing the sole source of illumination in the otherwise dark room. She tried to move and discovered to her horror that she was confined to a chair and bound with ropes, which restricted her movements. She drew her head back and let out a huge sigh of frustration. ‘ How did this happen?!’ she screamed internally.
She racked her brain as she started to remember slowly: She was on her way home from her son’s school when her car suddenly broke down. It was beginning to be a thing of nature now for the annoying vehicle.It was already dark and she didn’t need this kind of stress right now. She grumbled and alighted from the car to open the bonnet. She was still contemplating on what the problem was when she heard a calm voice behind her.
“Having trouble there, ma’am?”
Startled, she turned around. It was a guy in a long trench coat staring at her with a calm expression and a gentle smile on his face. She breathed a sigh of relief and put her hand over her chest.
“Sorry if I startled you” he chuckled.
“No problem” she replied.
“Is there any thing wrong?” he queried.
“Well, it’s this car” she grumbled. “ It just broke down all of a sudden. I don’t know why it keeps doing that?!!”
She turned to attend to her car, missing the growing eerie look on his face.
“Such a pity” he said as he began walking calmly towards her. “ And at this time of the night. You never know..” he paused as he reached her, her back still turned to him. He reached into his coat. “..who could be lurking around” he finished in a deadly tone.
The tone of his voice stunned her and she turned around, just for him to spray her in the face with sleeping gas. She coughed and struggled before she collapsed and everything went black….

“That little son of a..” she mumbled in annoyance as she remembered everything.
She was interrupted by another moan. A moan of pain. She paused in shock as she assumed she was the only one in the room. She craned her head towards the sound and saw a silouhette of another figure tied in a chair just like her at the dark side of the room. She squinted her eyes and deduced that he was clearly a guy. Then again, the voice gave him away.
“Hello?” she said and she noticed him tense and move his head forward to study her. ‘Probably just waking up’ she mused
“ Mrs Johnson?” the figure gasped in surprise as he recognized her face revealed by the bulb. A look of surprise came to her face.
“Yes” she replied as she sounded cautious. She wasn’t about to take any chances again. “ Who are you?”
“It’s me, Ma. It’s Jake” he replied.
“JACOB?!!” she cried out in shock. “ What happened? What are you doing here? ”
“I can’t really remember.” He replied. “ It’s all a blur”
Before anyone could say anything further, The door opened and someone entered the room. He switched off the light and moved to another side of the room to switch on another bulb. This time it was brighter and light reflected around the whole room. He had his back turned to them before he turned around to reveal…
“OH MY GOD!!” Esther cried out in recognition “ LUKE?!”
“Well, well, well” he laughed. “I’m so flattered you still remember me. How long has been, Esther? I6 years? Wow. It’s been a long time.”
“Luke!!” she cried out as she struggled against the chair. “What is the meaning of this?!! What is going on here?!!”
“Oh don’t bother yourself struggling” he waved his hand dismissively “ It’s a waste of time. What is going on is that you and young Jacob over there are the center of attraction for a wonderful reunion between me and..” he winked at her. “ ..Your boy”
“Luke!” she growled in a warning tone. “ I may not know what is happening or what you are up to or even why I am here, but I swear, if you are planning anything against my son…”
“Oh” he pouted in mocking fashion as he held her chin and stared into her eyes. “ The love of a mother. How touching. It makes me want to cry… Not really” he laughed.
She scowled at him but said nothing.
“By the way” he continued as he released her and walked in a circle around the captives “ This invitation is all thanks to these two people” he gestured to the door.
The door opened and a young man stepped in. Esther gasped as she recognized him as the man who sprayed her earlier.
“YOU!!” she cried in anger.
“Oh, have you met?.. oh wait, of course you have” Luke laughed as he walked to the man and slung his arm around his shoulder and faced then faced them with a proud smile on his face. “ Lady and Gentleman, meet my son. Chris. A real chip off the old block”
“And I should care because?” Jake retorted in annoyance. He was confused and pissed off now by this situation he was and it didn’t look like they were going further.
“ Because, Jacob..” Luke said as he left his son and went to stand at the back of Jake, resting his hands on Jake’s shoulders . “ You might want to see the other person who made this meeting possible”
He gestured to the door and another person entered the room. This time a girl. A deadly smile made it’s way to her lips as she sauntered towards Jake. Jake’s eyes widened in horror as he took in the sight of the girl who stood in front of him. She was….
“ ANGELA?!!”

“I should have known he was going to strike sooner than expected!” Daniel cried out in frustration as he walked along with Annabelle along the bushy path on the way to the warehouse.
“I should have seen the signs” he continued. “ No disturbance, no encounters for the past weeks. It was too good to be true.”
“ I can’t believe he stooped so low to involve Jake and your mother” Annabelle hissed. “ Then again he was always a heartless beast who…”
“wouldn’t stop until he had what he wanted” Daniel finished. He was wearing a leader jacket that housed a lot of wooden stakes and garlic spray. He carried a crossbow that was filled with sharpened arrows made of wood. He was well prepared as he knew things were going to get bloody. Annabelle on the other hand went unarmed. They reached an opening which revealed the full view of the warehouse and they could see a few lights on.
“You ready?” She looked at him questioningly
He glanced back at her and nodded. “ Let’s do this”
“Wait.” They were startled as a low voice called out from behind them. They turned around and to their surprise, they saw none other than Tomiwa. She had her arms crossed and there was an angry expression on her face.
“Tomiwa?” Daniel was surprised. “ What are you doing here?”
“Was about to ask you the same thing?” she replied. The frown not leaving her face. “ So Jake escorts me to my hostel and we say our goodnight and bla bla bla. Then he goes. I enter my room only to remember that he left something with me. I try to call him and he doesn’t pick , which is weird. Jake picks on the first dial. I decide to run to his hostel only to hear from one of your guys I met outside that he is not around and you were also not available. Shocking. I decide to take another route to my hostel and what do I see? Daniel and Annabelle walking through the woods like Hansel and Gretel. So what I want to know is..” she paused and stepped towards them.
“ What the hell is going on?” she concluded.
