Have you ever noticed the way Barack Obama treats and respects his wife Michell in public? Do you admire the way he admonishes his wife at every given opportunity? So much public display of affection. Obama is a man who really knows how to treat his wife. He respects her so much. Compare that to the way Donald Trump treats his own wife by watching online videos of both of them.

Barack Obama met his wife Michelle in 1989 when he interned at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin, where Michelle Robinson was an associate assigned to mentor Obama. The future president and first lady married in 1992. Sidley Austin assigned Michelle to mentor Barack since they both attended Harvard Law School. At that time, Michelle was earning much more than Barack. The two began seeing each other socially during Barack's internship, and after he went back to Massachusetts to continue his Harvard education, the pair continued the relationship despite the distance. While Barack was initially hesitant towards Michelle's suggestions of marriage, he proposed to Michelle in Chicago in 1991.

Melania Knauss was at a party in New York City in 1998, when she was just 28 years old and Trump was aged 52. She had been invited there by the Italian businessman who set her up as a model in the USA. Melania refused to give Donald her number when he asked for it but instead took his number and, after returning from a modelling gig in the Caribbean, gave him a call. On their first date, they talked for "the whole evening" and the rest, as they say, is history.

One of the reasons why Obama respects his wife so much is because she was there for him when he had nothing. She took a chance on him when he was a nobody. He owe’s much of his success in life today to his wife and that explains the amount of respect and regard he gives to her.

Donald trump on the other hand was already a billionaire when he met his wife and owes her nothing. In an interview that Melania did with GQ magazine, the interviewer asked her; would you have married Donald if he wasn’t rich? Melanie’s response was, would he have married me if I wasn’t beautiful? Their marriage is obviously contractual; Melanie married him for his money while Trump married her for her beauty and that partly explains the less regard Trump has for his own wife.

A typical lady would love to marry a man that has the kind of wealth that Trump has but can you tolerate a man who doesn't treat you with respect and dignity? You would love to marry a man that treats you with dignity and respect like the way Obama treats his wife but would you fall for a student who came to intern in the office where you were already an associate?

So ladies most times life is all about trade offs. You can't always have it both ways. You want a rich guy and at the same time you want him to treat you with dignity. Sometimes you'll have to choose between a man who is wealthy or a man who treats you with dignity depending on which one matters most to you.
