When it comes to technology and other areas, you can not predict what will be the outcome. The city of Dubai may eventually be the first city in the world to use a flying drone taxis this summer if all things work according to plan.

A growing number of companies are looking at the viability of airborne, autonomous taxis as a way to ease urban congestion and transportation woes, but the city of Dubai could leapfrog those with a plan to deploy a passenger-carrying drone as early as this summer.

Uber, Airbus and others are still talking about creating test vehicles that would begin transporting cargo first, but Dubai’s Roads & Transportation Agency lead announced at the World Government Summit in the city that they’re going to begin operating passenger service along predetermined routes starting in July, using the Ehang 184 autonomous quad-opener electric drone to ferry people through the air.

The Ehang 184 is a drone that can carry one passenger with a max weight of 220 pounds, for a distance of 31 miles on one charge and at a top speed of 100 mph. It’s plenty enough for short haul trips across a busy urban landscape. Dubai officials will remotely monitor the drones, and pilot them from a centralized command center, and the city says it’s already started test flying the vehicle in Dubai skies, so this isn’t just pure bluster.

Dubai has proven a wellspring of opportunity for people looking to push the limits of transportation technology. Hyperloop One looks likely to deploy the first active hyperloop transportation system in the city, with a route to Abu Dhabi, for instance, and it’s also piloting a number of self-driving shuttle projects.

leaders? No you the citizens of Nigeria change your mindset. Where do the leaders comes from is it not from the citizens? It is shameful that, 90% of Nigeria population including you can't even think properly. If you read comments on Nairaland you will understand what I mean most times out of 200 comments the only reasonable ones will be less than 10. How can a country develop, when 90% of it's citizens cannot think right.

Nigeria will not know how to manage such. We will just end up using it to accidentally kill the masses. Our way still far, our politicians are still campaigning with basic amenities every four years.

Why are u insulting me because I told u the truth? How many of our brains have left this country to where they are appreciated n recognised because our govt dont care about its citizens? Let me use our sports men for example, how many of them have nationalised to other countries because of a failed government.

I bet u mr good citizen, if u discover any break through technology today ur leaders will not give a flyingfuck about you!
