There is a universal belief that the best item to give a married couple is cash. This is especially true because of all the spending that goes into planning a wedding. But hey, who says other gifts won’t be appreciated?

We know some couples would claim they got loads of wedding gifts and may not really need any of your planned gifts. Well, we believe them (but just a tiny weeny bit). Even though everyone knows these home items don’t last forever, having two or more of them won’t hurt, would it? Yes, it could feel like junk when you have to find a store for them in your home, but they definitely have their uses.

For example, my mother has a storage room for gifts she receives from weddings, naming ceremonies, parties, and everything in between. I noticed something- we don’t get to buy some of these items because if for instance, one of our pots wears out, she goes into the store and wala – a new one is out!

Here’s the point - giving a wedding gift should be thoughtful. Be mindful of the fact that every couple wants to grow old together and you could help them create lasting memories. You know all the lovely times spent cooking for their kids or watching old movies together? We bet you’d want to be a big reason for those memories.

Pot sets: They are great for the just married because these things are meant to be used for a long, long time.

Vase: This would come in handy for beautiful interior decorations.

Baby Items: Baby items are so perfect for expectant brides. So, think about what a cooing baby would need. Here are some ideas – baby diapers, wipes, clothes, shoes, cot, delivery pack and so on.

Cash: Undecided on what to give or thinking your gift may be too small? Then simply just give cash and it will surely be appreciated. Weddings are money drainers and every cash gift will feel Santa’s.

So you get the drift - no gift is too small. The thought is actually what counts plus its usefulness, of course.
