You definitely don't understand the politics behind this move.

The creation of Ijebu State is inevitable once another round of state creation comes around.

The two Universities you mentioned fall within Ijebu axis of the state. This means that the Ogun Central Axis and Yewa will be left with no state University when the Ijebus eventually exit. Note that FUNAAB is a Federal University.

I believe it's a step in the right direction.

what happen to Yaba tech? even Ibadan poly with university standard is not considered to be a full university, mapoly doesn't have d university standard.even is approved it will not apply to d current student cos they gain admission with poly cut off

That school don't have facilities for a university standard, they don't even have a single school hostel since they have been in existence since 1975. Imagine

Misplaced priority

Here is a leader. For more than 20year now, federal govt have been planning how to convert yaba poly and Kaduna poly into a university.

My question is as the university of science and technology what of those students offering commercial courses like banking and finance , accounting and marketing etc how would they settle them... I'm a bit confused ?

Mapoly is not qualified to be a university! Sentiments will make some support that idea.
The skul still have a long way to go when it comes to technology, poor academics performance by students & so many lazy & unqualified lecturers.
To crown it up, the school is so corrupt & very unorganized. They admit more than they can accommodate.
As for me, the likes of Fed poly Ilaro, Yabatech, gateway poly are miles qualified for such upgrade!!!

Dumb development. MApoly to University? Very soon mushroom schools will be upgraded to Universities further downing the already bad educational sector. Amosun should be smart.

If Mapoly set simple questions as they do u won't be saying this nonsense school claiming d glorys of their fore father's.. The state doesn't need any other uni for now.
Those uni presently in state are lacking major infrastructures and yet he wants to upgrade Mapoly to a uni.
He needs to check this.

How come he became an accountant, is that the next thing to do? well, am not surprised that's how his planning to waste our awoof money in building ten lane... He can't divert the money into agriculture or even use it for completion of his undone tasks.... Someone shud help us tell Amosun to give d PENSIONERS their GRATUITY after serving d state for 35 years. They are tired of d hardship he's putting them through,delaying their monthly pension unnecessarily is uncalled for.

that school should be scrapped. Do they even have enough money to maintain the poly? they want to make it a uni and then continue to churn out poor graduates.
