Owerri — Imo State police command has alerted the public about some devious plans by wanted notorious armed robbery suspects to unleash terror in the state during the coming yuletide.

A statement issued by the Commissioner of Police Mr. Aloysius Okorie, yesterday said the command learned that the "dare-devil armed robbery gang", earlier declared wanted by the command in last July, are now regrouping and has concluded plans to terrorize the Eastern Heartland in the coming weeks.

The police boss listed the fleeing gang members as John Kennedy Odinaka Anyanwu, alias Sanko, an indigene of Umuokee Ugiri Ibeme in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state, Chikodiri Agbo, alias Chikoi, a Volvo mechanic at Umuayom, Awka, Anambra state and who is of number 24 Ogoja road, Abakiliki, Ebonyi State.

Other members of the syndicate, police further revealed, are Dozie Nnolim Aguiyi of Umuayom, Awka and a 300-level Project Management Technology student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, one Onochie, alias Nochis and Chijioke, both of whom also hail from Anambra State. Another member of the group in the police list was simply identified as 'Dada
Hair".Relevant Links

Some arrested members of the dangerous gang were recently paraded at the command premises alongside various stolen vehicles recovered from them while their fleeing colleagues were declared wanted by the police.

The command's statement therefore requested anybody with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted criminals said to have been involved in several criminal cases ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping to drug peddling to report to the commissioner of police or officer in charge of crack squad unit of the command or the nearest police station.

The police commissioner, however, assured the people of the state of the readiness of his men to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties during and after the Christmas celebration

Sometimes I wonder how some Nigerians critise others. How do we start fighting the ills in our society if not by exposing the few bad eggs who are dragging the name of our country in mud. Aloy Emeka is doing us a great favour by postng this thread. These are known criminals most of whom are still at large. We can only change our image by this sort of actions.
