You have done well, Emir Sanusi.

Evil thrives when good men do nothing.

Even if your proposal is discarded, you still made and effort.
Don't give up.
Continue to push for what you believe in.
This your move is done to protect the common man, as we know your children and those of the other northern elites have received and are still receiving the best of education for both male and female.

Please please please nigerians we need to support this bill.

Speak to your senators and rep members, say NO, HELL NO to early marriages.
Early marriage is the root cause of the north's underdevelopment, and once a section of the country is poor, the entire country is poor as we are all connected.

I love Sanusi for this write up, we keep building churches and mosques instead of schools.
In the early days, most schools were run by churches (Anglican, Methodist, etc), we need to revive this, as there is no development with illiteracy.
I was speaking to one of my northern sisters and she said, so ignorantly, that she will have as many children as her womb can produce as her religion preaches to reproduce, like wtf children you cannot afford to raise, that will constitute a nuisance to the society, this should be a crime and punishable.

Sanusi was once in government as the head of affairs of the apex bank. He had opportunity to help the country in his own little way, but it was during his regime as CBN governor that we witnessed so much corruption. (GEJ days). He only spoke of missing money 2 months to the expiration of his tenure. He also married an 18 year old princess as his fourth wife.

and who told you be talk two months to the end of his tenure. he was sacked for saying the money was missing. get your fact right bro

Talk is cheap.

If they are getting married by 18, how can they be educated

What am I saying sef?

At least 18 is still better than 15. As long as you send them to school afterwards

He is advocating against girl child marriage but got married to an 18-year old.. I know some people will say an 18year old is an adult but we all know that if that girl was given a choice and actually wanted to marry at that age,she would marry someone that is definitely not her father's age.
her father, mai-Martaba Lamidon Adamawa is 73 not 54..

An 18 year old is a woman. Anything younger and it's wrong.

"all this issues of maternal health and Almajiri are courtesy of early marriage as a result of lack of education for our girl children, this is bringing us back."

That in itself boils down to Islam. So, yes, build more schools not mosques. If possible shut down all the mosques and your people will be free.

Baba that your bill would be dead on arrival. Even for the Kano wey you dey, your own Islamic clerics would rise up against you and tell you that it's unislamic and all sorts.
Good thinking though. One day northern Nigeria would be liberated from the shackles and retrogressive ideologies tied to Islam. They have dragged southern Nigeria backwards for too long in the spirit of one naijeriya and federal character.
How liberated are your southern kinsmen who swallow cocaine and commit advance fee fraud? In Colombia drug lords are practicing Christians and they kill at will how have Christianity liberated them? What about Calabar and Uyo where kids are killed for wizardry (which they're not) by Christians and it took the intervention of a Danish woman to save one of them? Some of you southerners are educated illiterates and hate filled bigot who come online to speak about that which you have no knowledge of. Islam isn't anti progress

He really needs to help his people. Massive education is the solution to the problem of the north. Their children must be made to see reasons they need to be educated. They also need serious birth control. Too many children in the north with nothing to feed them. They end up begging

If you can band this early marriage for your people. You have done a great thing for the north and have written your name in gold but Yerima will gi
ve you a hard fight because it will affect him a lot as he will not be able to divorce the older ones and marry a twelve year old again.

if u can stop sleeping with 13yrs old to 20urs old b4 marriage iliterancy will go away.
