Is The Gospel Really Meant For Everyone? - An Insight Into The Epistle Of Jude by ecstasy357(m): 1:23am On Apr 10, 2017
Apostle Jude made a remarkable statement in his epistle, stating that we (Christians) should have mercy on some, making a difference in their life (Jude 1:22). Why would the Apostle say “some” and not “all”?

I want to formally establish the fact according to the Bible that the gospel is for everyone. Jesus commanded His disciples to go into the world and preach the gospel to every living creature (Mark 16:15). In I Timothy 2:3-4, Apostle Paul tells us that God’s desire is for everyone to be saved, and that’s why He gave His son to die for everyone – Jews, Gentiles, Samaritans, Greeks, Italians, Nigerians etc.

However, there are people in the world with a stony heart, unaware of reality, ordained for condemnation, abusing the grace of God, denying God’s existence and our LORD Jesus (Jude 1:4,11) – people like Cain; when asked by God, “where is thy brother?” They could answer God with a question, “am I my brother’s keeper”. People like Balaam that wasn’t terrified by a talking animal but are willing to go ahead with their plan for a reward. People like Korah; after seeing what the LORD did through Moses, are willing to question his leadership. These people are special cases.

Jude was saying that you whose faith is not strong enough to preach to them, you should let them be lest they convince you of their own doctrine. Maybe Apostle Paul or Peter can minister to then or someone that have a deeper understanding of the scripture . . . but not you. There are people who are thirsty for the word and are looking for anyone that will explain to them – people like the Eunuch of Ethopia that Philip ministered to (Acts 8:26-39); make a difference in these lives.

Make a difference in the life of the ordinary sinner who are thirsty for God and let those who are prepared to defend their knowledge defend it – like Cain, Balaam and Korah; those that argue and wants to confuse you, whose desire is to pull you into sin (2 Peter 2:14-21). Go to them that want to listen, and make a difference in their life.
