Nigeria is a land known for publicly lynching thieves. We believe in jungle justice as the policemen and law enforcement are not trusted to do the right thing.
But I have noticed something in most of these public lynching.
The mob mentality and all.
When a man decides to steal, he goes far from where he is known. Because he cant take the public humiliation of been caught in his area. He is therefore a stranger to these people, making it easy to lynch.
A local neighbour- neighbour thief cannot be lynched in his domain. Arrest is the highest they can do. Because it is not easy to kill somebody you already know. And his family may decide to come after you.
It is not easy to kill somebody you know. Stripping them naked is the highest you can do.

Every time Nigerians (or Africans) burn, beat up, strip or kill criminal suspects, Im reminded why the civilised world still thinks Africa is a land of savages.

The thieves don't have mercy on their victims. So when they are caught, no mercy for them too. I don't pity them when they are lynched. If you ever be their victim, you will not pity them.

It happens in 60% of African countries. We r yet to attain a higher level of understanding. Our society is still filled with uneducated savage thinking being until we have 95% of our society educated then some social misnomer will subside to the bearest minimum, I guess it's not happening anytime soon.

Petty thieves steals from the poor. It's a bad omen. Why steal from the poor. Any thief that steal from the rich goes through the courts process of conviction. Those that steals from the poor receives instant judgment. That's why the poor are very strong.

Any man who has the mind to take what does not belong to him is capable of murder.

People die but it is not everybody that lives. Base on logistics
