NANS Partners Police, Flag-off “Police Is Your Friend” Sensitization Campaign

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni, has flagged off the “Police Is Your Friend” sensitization campaign.
The campaign in partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) was flagged-off at the Force Headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday April 12th, 2017.
The partnership tagged “The Nigeria Police Force and Nigerian Students Partnership for Peace Building in Nigeria”, according to NANS President, Comr. Aruna Kadiri, “would help douse Police-students confrontations and strengthen unity”.
“The idea to partner with the police boiled out of the fact that, the students represent a very large percentage of Youths in Nigeria and a partnership would help douse Police-students confrontations and strengthen unity,” he said.
President Kadiri who lauded the peace building initiative, expressed confidence that the campaign will reach all campuses cut across the 36 states and FCT.
He appealed to all Nigerian students across the country, zonal coordinators and EXCOs, students leaders most especially SUGs to get ready for the campaign as its an all-inclusive national programme.
In his remark, IGP Idris, said the Nigeria Police will continue to operate within the Principles of Democratic Policing in dealing with Nigerian Students and in all its dealings with members of the Public.
Also in attendance during the flag-off ceremony were DIGs and other top officials of the force. Police Is Indeed Your Friend! NANS is fully committed to peace and nation building. Peace and love to all. Viva Aluta!!

they should continue deceiving themselves. which 'police is your friend'? when they treat you like an ordinary criminal once you refuse to give them their normal N50 on the road. what the Nigerian police needs is to flush out these unscrupulous elements and then rebrand the police force not this silly 'sensitization'....as they put it

The same police that shoot armless students each time they seek redress with protests is now their friend. Ayam tired of this country.
