Peace Mass Transit (PMT), one of the foremost transport companies in the country, has lambasted the bias media campaign against the activities of the organisation, insisting that no one can run it out of business.

Chief Sam Maduka Onyishi, the Chairman of Peace group, while refuting claims that PMT has been blacklisted by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said such reports were the handiworks of competitors and haters whose mission was to scare passengers from entering his vehicles and cause the downfall of his business.

The transport mogul insisted that peace will continue to thrive in the face of adversity because it is a gift from God. He noted that with over 3000 PMT buses plying Nigerian roads daily, his firm was exposed to accident, "but not to say that our drivers are always at fault."

"Nobody can indict Peace Mass Transit on these accidents. Our drivers were not at fault. Even the police have exonerated us. I'm sure the Road Safety will do the when they release their report," Chief Maduka insisted.

"The police and eye witness reports have exonerated PMT drivers from the cause of some the accidents. However, the company will continue to retrain her drivers on defensive driving in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Corps, and some consultants psychologists.

The PMT boss also revealed the rigorous process taken in employing drivers. He said; "Prospective drivers must have valid drivers' licence, medical certificate of fitness from a government hospital, visual certificate report, drug test report, and must be between age 31 and 40 years." He added that "all Peace drivers must have driven commercial vehicles for at least five years and must be married."

The chairman sympathized with all families that have lost their loved ones through road accident, assuring the general public that it will continue to work hard to guarantee the safety of passengers.

Finally it has been mentioned to them...most accidents are caused by drivers, so PMT drivers should own up...Not the buck passing.
