The 'Eba' of Lagoon should break the calabash now! He has no kingdom, only bridges and flyovers that lead to kingdoms of Ooni and other real Obas.

The last time Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo met with Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi, they embraced with people around watching in admiration the two great custodians of our heritage as a race.

Oba Akiolu should learn from this, even as Alaafin of Oyo had issues with the late erstwhile Ooni of Ife.
THE so-called Oba of Lagos who is just a Baale lasan lasan is a political thug and a fool for disrespecting a living deity in the person of Arole Oodua Oonirisa. The Baale of Lagos should consider his desecrated stool vacant.

His roots are with the Palace of Oba of Benin and his loyalty .....He has no roots with other Yoruba kings talkless of Ooni of Ife. Ooni of Ife is also a bloated throne which the Olugbo of Ugbo has carpeted ....This Oduduwa throne is propaganda ,there is no throne in Ife and Ife was never an empire . Where did many of you get off calling him imperial majesty? Head of a small village of Ife which never in history had a standing army? Conquered any territory?

Ooni of Ife has no blood line related to even the Oduduwa and Oduduwa did not found Yoruba nation ...The Yoruba race precede Oduduwa and Ile Ife is predated by towns like Oba Ile and Ugbo which are all Yoruba towns

quote author=Benekruku post=55934918]

Oba of Lagos has been a tout from time immemorial.

He attained the position by sheer political affiliation and not on merit.

Moreover, Oba of Lagos is just a man-made throne which has no place in Yoruba history. Its more of a social title.

He lacks respect for his fathers if he can snub Oni!

He is a toy to Oni anyday, anytime

What is 'Oba' Akiolu? He is an ordinary Baale in Yoruba monarchial ranking. Something like a colonel, while Oba Adewusi is like Commander in chief. Akiolu too small for what he did.
This thing that every Baale is becoming king is a cause for disrespect. Alaafin, Ataoja, Alake, even Olubadan are all higher ranked kings than Eleko of Eko land.
Including soun of ogbomoso. Lol

Respect is very paramount in the yoruba culture. And as a supposedly guardian and preserver of culture and tradition, oba akiolu should do better than that!

Technically he's not a Yoruba king. He's from bini kingdom. A Yoruba king wldnt defend that low.

When the Royal Tout of Lagos denigrated the Igbos, they hailed him. No Yoruba that I know spoke against this dirty, bribe-taking police man. Now the lunatic has turned to the amiable custodian of Yoruba culture, His Majesty, Ooni Ogunwusi, Ojaja 1. Evil should not be supported at all times. No matter the sentiments in the air.

Ooni won't respond. Royalty never responds to such attacks. I remember when someone threw a rotten egg on the face of the Prince of Wales. He just smiled.

There is this statement "treat ur towel the same way because the side that wipe ur buttocks 2day may wipe ur face tomorrow." When ill statement/act is commented/committed, everybody should condemn it because it might come to ur turn. When this same oba made that inflammatory statement against the Igbos "lagoon stuff" I believe some tribes were happy about it. Now his attitude is like getting out of hand and the same people are shouting woe. It's well.

As much as the act of the Oba of Lagos is not commendable, the stoll is not under the jurisdiction of the Ooni of ife so is attitude suggest he can choose to pay tribute or not, lets' get clear.
sheedy407:
What Oba of Lagos doesnt know is that his title is very limited,to me,he is the Chief of all those Lagos Red Caps Chiefs but Ooni Of Ife is a representative of Oduduwa and by protocol or even respect,Oba of Lagos is not even fit to untie the lace of Ooni Of Ife's shoes.

Oba Of Lagos is not an A-List Oba too and that is why he cant walk with any stool of power or a in some occasions cover his face.
