1. To avoid a console war debate on this thread, i'd say both are good consoles. Just get whichever one you feel like. Both have great exclusives too. The ps3 however has more exclusive games than the xbox360.

2. Like i said this is up to your personal preference.

3. Both are within the same price range.

4. Just get the slim of either of both consoles and it'll last long.

5. I don't really get this question I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability though. Both console have exclusives e.g Gears of war on Xbox360 and uncharted on Ps3. The ps3 has more to offer in terms of exclusives though. Just google "The last of us" and you will see very good review most of the time for the game. Xbox360 has sharper graphics in my opinion. If you get a multiplatform game released for both the ps3 and xbox360 and test them side by side, you will observe that the xbox360 has less aliasing than the ps3. Also the setup is virtually the same, both can play from disk and both can be hacked to play from harddrive or external storage. The ps3 uses more durable disks though i.e Blu-ray disk. The xbox360 uses DVDs. The xbox360 is way easier to hack than the ps3 though, you can even do it yourself if you follow online tutorials carefully. The Ps3's jailbreak is rather crude and requires opening and tinkering with the console.

6. No, absolutely not. Ps3 uses Blu-ray Xbox360 uses DvDs.

7. Sort of like the ps3. The early fat models have Rrod (Red ring of death). The later slim models also have hardware issues but last longer than the fat models.

8. We are currently in the 8th gen of consoles. I doubt if we'll still classify consoles by generations anymore since both sony and Microsoft are releasing console revisions that are nearly thrice as powerful as the original console in the mid cycle of the original console. The PS3, Xbox360 and Wii belong to the 7th gen i.e last gen. The ps2, Original Xbox, Dreamcast and GameCube belong to 6th gen. All you need to know is that the ps3 and xbox360 are last gen consoles.

9. It can be RGHed and Jtagged. Lets just call it CFW for Xbox360. Yes, it can be hacked. And it's own hack is straightforward and less crude than the ps3. If you don't care about the PS3 exclusives then you should get the Xbox360.

Exclusives of a platform refers to games released only for that platform. I've been using Playstation products for a long time, but it's hard to argue that the xbox doesn't have a lot to offer. If this is your first 7th gen console, I'd say to just chose the ps3 over the Xbox 360.

1. The models determine whether they can be jailbroken or not. I would advise that you check if the console is truly jailbroken with multiman installed.

2. Not bad. You should be able to fit in a large amount of games.

3. Buy an hdmi cable once and for all. Just 1k upwards. The Av inputs shouldn't cost more than 5h.

It's a really good deal in my opinion that is if the console is jailbroken. If it is simply hacked and injected with games, I'll leave it to you to decide.

Slim consoles can be jailbroken, while superslims can't be jailbroken. You can inject games into both console though. Get the slim for convenience.
