Ever since the news of the Delta State Governor leaving the venue of a commissioning ceremony in Sapele when the ex-speaker and thugs attacked him, many opinions have been raised to question the strength of the Governor as the Chief Security Officer of the State. Those with that opinion may have wanted a situation where the Governor would have ordered his security team to attack those thugs which may result to many casualties.

From the above many may see the power of a sitting governor as that which can do and undo in his domain. This brings to mind the gruesome murders of unspecified numbers of Shia muslims in Zaria, Kaduna State during almost same scenario where some individuals decide to block to protest and prevent the Chief of Army Staff from going through same. The result and aftermath of that incidence is still a subject of discuss till date with many even calling for the ICC to investigate and prosecute all those responsible for those killings.

One may also recall how a sitting President during the 2015 presidential campaign was attacked in many States (Bauchi, Gombe, etc) in the North even with stones but with all sense of humanity, nobody was killed for attacking him. There has been pockets of cases where some politicians have been attacked but decide to allow civilization and preservation of the sanity of the human life prevail.

With the two scenario above, one could deduce that killing protesters or using states apparatus to attack those you are elected to govern does not really lead to peace, development and being a strong man in any way. That Governor Okowa's singular act of leaving the venue instead of using State apparatus to attack those thugs should rather be commended that the condemnation being given by some. His action should rather be a reference point to politicians and security heads who feel to using State Apparatus to intimidate and abuse citizens instead of this civil way.

In all, youths who feel the only way to make a living is to be use by politicians to drive home their points by disrupting developmental programmes/projects should have a rethink of what such an outcome may be in the future. Okowa may be civil today, but many other politicians or security heads may not be civil tomorrow. So everyone should be wise.

there is a sayin that he who fights and run away, lives to fight another day,d x speaker is indeed a tout,

Okowa is a medical doctor.
A finely educated man who knows d stress involved in saving lives.
Sometimes a patient comes in critically injured,d doctor tries his best,sometimes U even donate your blood and pay some of the patient's bills.
If d patient eventually doesn't make it,U become depressed for d whole of d day,so why snuff out a life at a slight provocation?
