Some of us find multiplication difficult without calculator and even multiplication tables

okay what of if you find yourself writing an exam and maybe you are not given a calculator?, then you meet 513*99 and with just limited time will you be scratching your brain to get this?.....

Below are some tricks to help you out in ''some'' multiplication problems

1) To multiply any number by 500, multiply the number by 1000 then divide by 2 e.g. 2107*500= 2107000/2 =1503500

2)To multiply any number by 50, multiply the number by 100 then divide by 2 e.g. 493*50 = 49300/2 =24650

3)To multiply any number by 25, multiply the number by 100 then divide the result by 4 e.g. 235*25 = 23500/4 =5875

4)To multiply any number by 5, multiply the number by 10 then divide the result by 2, e.g. 437*5 = 4370/2= 2185

5)to multiply any number by 6, add zero to the number then half the result and add the original number e.g.173*6 =1730/2 + 173 =865+173=1,038

6)to multiply any number by 9, add zero to the number then subtract the original number e.g. 513*9=5130-513=4617

7)To multiply any number by 11, add a zero to the number then add the original number e.g. 217*11 =2170+217=2,387

8.multiplication of two numbers ending with 5 with difference of 10 e.g. 75*65
note: the last two digits of the result is always 75
To get the first digit of the answer, add 1 to the higher of the first digit and multiply it with the lower first digit i.e. (7+1)*6=8*6=48. Join this with the last two digits i.e. 75*65= 4875..
Another example: 95*85=(9+1)=10*8=80 ,95*85=8075

if you know this tricks, then you won't find it difficult to solve any multiplication problems on the aforementioned examples. cool
