Divorce is no new word in the Nigerian entertainment industry. As a couple of celebrity marriages have hit the rocks in recent years.

Nollywood seems to have the greatest number as regards separation and the like which makes fans and members of the public feel that there may be a problem inherent in the Nigerian movie industry.

Recent developments have shown that failed marriages does not just happen in Nollywood but the entire entertainment industry.


1. Solomon Akiyesi

Solomon has been married for four times. He wedded his university love, Ezinne in 2003. He was alleged to still be married to Ezinne when he contracted another marriage with Lilian who was said to be 8 months pregnant and living in Port Harcourt when Solomon attempted to marry another wife, Uloma Agwu in Lagos on April 13, 2013.

Akiyesi and Agwu were almost pronounced as husband and wife when Lilian stormed the Overcomer’s World Outreach Church, Surulere Lagos where the wedding was going on. She stormed the place with some family members and policemen.

2. Ali Baba

Veteran Ali Baba separated from his first wife, Patricia Leon and he remarried a banker, Mary about 11 years ago.
Patricia Leon and Ali Baba have a daughter together.



3. Ibrahim Chatta

Ibrahim Chatta who was divorced remarried the daughter of former governor of Kwara State, Shaaba Lafiaji, Salamatu. The couple later separated.

In 2016, he tied the knots with an actress called Laide aka Lizzie Berry. Ibrahim has been married three times.


4. Femi Adebayo

In October 2016, Adebayo remarried 7 years after his marriage with his ex-wife, Khadijat ended.

His latest wife is Omotayo Maimunat Sanusi.



5. Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles star, Ahmed Musa married a second wife recently after an alleged fight between the Leicester City forward and his wife Jamila in England.

His marriage to Juliet Ejue is his second.


6. Daniel Ademinokan

Daniel Ademinokan was first married to Doris Simon before his secret marriage to Stella Damasus in the US. Ademinokan’s first wife and latest wife are both actresses.


7. Femi Branch

Popular Nollywood actor, Femi Branch is set to marry for the 3rd time, after a year separation from his second wife, Ibitola Branch. Before Ibitola who has two kids for him, he was married to another woman for just a few months.

According to a source close to the actor who spoke with LIB, Ibitola left Femi Branch in 2016 after allegedly suffering Domestic Violence and dealing with his constant absence from their home.
