Knowing fully well the motive of the northern bloc which is using Biafra as a smoke screen to unleash mayhem from there justify a coup to remove and prevent that fake pastor from assuming fully as substantive President, I will however up the ante and similar rhetoric coming from Arewa that they recall all their people from the Southeast and Niger Delta ( they can remain in Oduastan for all i care). In this regard, the north should declare the following prior to executing their threats come October 1. Recall all northern security officers stationed in the Niger Delta and the SE. 2. Recall all fulani herdsmen and their cows from the better south. You can go and graze in the SW. 3. All northerners working in ports, oil companies and those who own oil wells should forfit their investments and jobs in the better south. You can not have your cake and eat it. 4. All the northern vagrants and street urchins who make a better wage doing menial jobs in the SS and SE must depart with immediate effect. If Arewa can do this before October 1st then we will consider their threats as serious. You dont expect an Igbo man to relocate from the north after being driven out to have a fulani man grazing freely in his land. Since there is hardly an distinction among Niger Delta and Igbos in the north, we also do not expect any Fulani man enjoying the benefits of owning oil wells in the Niger Delta. Sincerely I urge these Southern minority tribes to be wary of the Igbos there is more to these their agitations, it is because of Oil they want to leave Nigeria. It is the same reason the Federal military govt in the 60's went after Ojukwu and his Biafran Army because of the discovery of Oil. The US classified about the Civil War clearly stated the minority tribes were not happy with the way they were forcefully joined into Biafra. They even hailed the Federal troops when they entire into the Midwest approaching the Niger bridge into Onitsha. Biafra is an Igbo cause, first of all carve out the 5 igbo states and a few part of Delta and Rivers that are igbo speaking into your Biafra and let the other minorities decide if they want to join or not. Stop forcing people into the union, the same thing Nigeria did is what you are trying to do because I can assure the minorities Igbos who like to dominate things will dominate them and marginalize them in Biafra land. Best bet bring yourselves together and form your own country. |

That call by those youths is one of d stupidiest calls made this yr and Northerners should be falling over themselves to condemn it. I also agree,quite painfully with the Op that the Northern i di oit's shud av called on their northern brethren,even if only in d Southeast to all return home first. Though one Nigeria is d best for all,let no one be deluded that the Southeast wud lose anything if it's FORCED out of Nigeria.The first few yrs will be tough,but 10yrs down d line, d Southeast will equal if not surpass any devpt d North or any other region has achieved thru unbriddled central govt discrimination. DONGOYARO1: Look! Arewa secession a.k.a. ARABA! riots were the first agitations for the breakup of this country even before independence in 1960. This was what led to the compromise by Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe to become ceremonial president and leave executive Prime Minister for the North. Following the success of the counter coup in July 1966 and installation of Yakubu Gowon as military head of state, the same Gowon went ahead to carve out the northern region as an independent country separate from the rest of Nigeria. Yes! The North did secede, successfully, then a few days later, they changed their minds and reversed the decision! It probably had something to do with the newly discovered commercial quantities of crude oil in the eastern region. |
