Nigeria Is Already Divided; See Proof!!! – Philip Emeagwali by kennyhalcyon38: 11:22am On Jun 11, 2017 |
Nigeria is Already Divided; See Proof!!! – Philip Emeagwali Sharia is observed in twelve of Nigeria’s thirty-six states. Why should a section of country adopt a different law from others? “The Nigerian constitution stipulates that we are Nigerians first and then Muslims (or Christians) second. However, some fanatic northern Nigerian elected officials are insisting that Muslims are Muslims first and Nigerians second and, therefore, are entitled to live by the sharia Islamic law. The contradiction is these elected officials were elected through a secular constitution that is the supreme legal document of the land. Each official swore to uphold the constitution. After being elected, some Muslim officials now want that constitution subordinate to sharia law. Proponents of sharia argue that the constitution guarantees freedom of religion while opponents argue that freedom of religion does not mean that Islam will be the state religion and take precedence over the constitution. When a northern Nigerian state adopts Islam as the state religion, it in fact puts the state above the nation and its constitution. In other words, “freedom of religion” does not entitle some northern states to create an Islamic state within the secular state of Nigeria. More specifically, the Nigerian constitution does not permit the adoption of Christianity or Islam as the state religion. ” – PHILIP EMEAGWALI http://igberetvnews.com/27039/ 2 Likes

Forget about religions, languages and ethnic groups. All those things are everywhere across the world and they are fine. The problem of Nigeria is Nigeria herself. 4 Likes 1 Share |

We are Nigerians and will never be subordinated with any other law apart from Nigerian law.. But the reverse is the case in some states in the north. Religion has tear us apart that some people try to subjugate religion on Nigeria, which will be a huge comic on the citizens that don't share the same belief. Things fall apart.. 1 Like |

Litmus: Are you aware that there is no Night club or much of a beer parlour in Bauchi? Are you aware there is an embargo placed on bring in of alcohol in the city of Kano..? Do you believe that there is a maximum implementation of sharia law in the core northern state that even the Nigerian government law have no rule on? Why do some one serving as a governor choose to built 500 mosque or so in the north.. With whose money? Even Santa can't do that.. 5 Likes |
