Work-life balance has different meanings for different people. To some it means a 40-hour work week, while others may prefer longer hours with the flexibility to set their own schedule. Whatever work-life balance might mean to you, here are the top 5 jobs that allows for work-life balance.

The jobs are based on the Glassdoor”s 2016 list of the 29 best jobs for work-life balance. Glassdoor is best known for its crowd-sourced company reviews, and for this list, it grouped those reviews by job title. To be included, a role needed to have at least 75 work-life balance ratings from 75 or more companies.

1. Recruiter

This job entails ensuring a company attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline. Best known as Human Resource personnel, recruiters are a bit like a “bouncer” for a company or organization, deciding whether or not candidates are suited for open positions.

2. UX Designer

User-Experience (UX) designers have a very good understanding of technology, business goals and psychology. Their main task is to conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and then use the gathered information to create sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes. This means a good UX designer has to have strong analytical abilities, backed by technical skills.

3. Data Analyst

Date Analysts translate numbers into plain English. Every business collects data, whether it’s sales figures, market research, logistics, or transportation costs. A data analyst’s job is to take that data and use it to help companies make better business decisions.

4. Strategy Manager

The Strategic Planning Manager is responsible for planning and directing an organization’s strategic and long-range goals. Conducts organizational reviews to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and to evaluate operational effectiveness.

5. UI Designer

User Interface (UI Designers) lead the design for apps and online platforms — and make sure those designs help reinforce a company’s business objectives.

So you made a top 5 without adding Nigerian Civil Servant? They have the best work-life balance in the world. Office by 10am for some, rush out to the market around 1pm and skip some days when you feel like it.

Recruiters indeed are like 'bouncers' and just like any other bouncers, you've got to be able to meet their demands. Check my signature for helpful tips on this.

As an engineer you can work offshore (sea) or onshore (land), depends on where you're needed. But offshore pays more, and u work two weeks in a month.
