I think this piece of work here is going to be a masterpiece.
We shouldn't really judge. A lot of Escorts and lovepedlers don't do it because they love it. We didn't really know the life they went through.

“Allow the little ones to come to me” that was one of the inscriptions that caught my eyes. I read how he loved little children and how much they meant to him. Just while I was ruminating over this, I saw Mom pack the bed sheet and was moving outside. I later heard the door of the bathroom opening, and I knew she went to the bathroom. After a while, I heard a certain kind of rush. Mom quickly ran to the parlor breathing very hard.

I was immersed in my bible stories when I heard footsteps at the door, I laid down my book on the chair.

There was a knock on the door.

I looked through the window, a young handsome man was at the door. I had seen him before, he came to the house to see my Mum sometimes.

Whenever he came he was always nice and kind to me, bringing sweets and chocolates for me.

I walked as quietly as possible and I opened the door.

“Good afternoon Sir” I said, lowering my eyes in respect.

“Is your Mum around?”

“No” I said, forcing my voice to brim with confidence. I delivered the lie with a huge smile.

“Hmmm, are you sure?” He murmured, as his eyes darted into the space behind me.

‘Where did she go?’ he asked me, as he watched my face intently.

“Can I come in?” He asked me, with a soft gentle tone.

There was nobody to ask and since I had already told him that Mummy wasn’t around, I decided to act as Mum for that moment.
My Mum had always told me not to let strangers into the house.

“My Mum will beat me if I allow you inside the house.” I said, holding on to the door as firmly as my little and fragile arm would allow me to.

“Does it mean that your Mum is around?” He asked with his eyes wide open.

“No Sir, she isn’t around” I replied, my voice faltering.

‘I am not a stranger, I know you Mum very well.’ There was something about the way he delivered those words. He never went into her bedroom either, all the time he came to our house they were always in the parlour.

“Then you must allow me inside.” He said, as he pushed the door open and went inside.

I am in trouble, I thought to myself. I hope my Mother does not come out of the room.

I quickly and quietly shut the door and ran after him, hoping my Mum had not come out of the room she was in.

I found him seated in the parlor; he was reading my small book of bible stories. I stood beside the chair he was sitting in and wondered why he was in our house.

‘Here are some sweets I got for you,’ he said. I watched him as he opened his bag and brought out a case with various sweets in it.

‘Thank you, Sir.’ I said, excited at the prospect of having something for me once.

I kept my head bowed, trying to see if I could see footsteps by the door my Mum was in.

“Come and sit close to me and let me tell you a story.” The Uncle said.

I walked up to his side he carried me and placed me on his lap. The same way Fathers had their children on their laps in all the films and books I had seen or read. My legs were over his legs and my bum was not on him, but in the gap between his body and the side of the chair.

He put his hand between my laps and pulled me closer to his side and laid my head on his shoulder.

I felt so happy and loved.

I felt so special in that moment, this was the first time any Uncle had shown interest in me and my welfare and to even read me a story.

I was in heaven.

“Has anybody ever told you that you look beautiful?” He asked.

As his eyes went up and down over my body, I suddenly felt very self-conscious. I tried to wiggle, but he held on to me firmly.

“A lot of people tell me, but I don’t know what it means” I replied.

I wanted to open my box of sweets and see what was in them.

“Wow… it means that you are beautiful and you shouldn’t allow anybody apart from me to touch you. Do you understand?”

I looked at him in confusion.

‘Why would anyone want to touch me Uncle?’ I asked, with the innocence of a ten year old.

He stared at me intently, ‘People will try and take advantage of you.’

Was he my secret Father I thought to myself suddenly?

Was that why he was warning me about other people?

‘Come closer to me little one, let us read that story’ he said, as he held up the book and opened a random page.

He was nice, this Uncle did not have anything that pricked my bum bum.
