RIP to the boy, may God forgive you of all your sins.
I wonder why nowadays doctors are after money and not life saving, just don't want to work under others all because of greed, whereas, they are neither competent nor experienced.

I believe she is supposed to sue the hospital and they will be made to pay a fine or probably sent to jail (the doctors) or most welcomed, the licenses of the doctors in the hospital will be seized and they will be suspended.. or best of all she can go for all of the above
its negligence leading to death.... It's minimum of 20years imprisonment for the assholes on duty, hospital will pay for through every hole they've got

Terribly horrible!

They were truly negligent.

It is disheartening how some Nigerian doctors and nurses don't have value for human life. The love for money seems to be the order of the day in Nigeria. Some people no longer study some courses for the passion or love of it. It is now for either the money, prestige, title or influence.

May our lovely Tobi rest in perfect peace even as I pray he gets justice.

quacks called doctors... the most annoying part is their reluctant attitude to attend to patient correctly, was thinking stuffz like this only happen in govt owned hospitals....in this case justice must be served so that others can sit up to their duties

Only when you fall critically ill that you will understand the rubbish institutions we call hospitals in this country, nothing in this god forsaken country is working and sadly nobody is willing to work, how can a country move forward when it citizens don't have steady light and part more than half their meagre salary to buy fuel for generators, when there's no running water and people dug borehole to get water, when the roads are deathtraps, when jobs are not secured, when there's no security in the land, how we are still a country on the map is beyond me.a country that think it's best to grant amnesty to looters,a country considering to pardon a kidnapper.a country where the youth are engaged in fraud and are being encouraged,a country where our women have lost self respect and are quick to lay on their backs for peanuts,no be curse oh but Nigeria as it is,is beyond redemption, smh my brothers and sisters we are on our own in this land.

It is very sad to read that the young boy eventually died due to lack of oxygen. I have not gone there recently but in the 90s the hospital was still okay. I recommend you take your children to a children's hospital to avoid a mishap like this in the future Good Shepherd on Opebi road even saved my life when I needed emergency surgery

if nah me I won't cry or talk, I will shake hand with the careless nurse and Doctor, I will either look for Evans like and give them kidnapping job or badoo skull smasher to do the needful on them ... then I will come back to the Hospital very late in the night with 50 litres of fuel and set it ablaze

Exactly!!! Such doctors and nurses should be dealt with, we are talking about people's life's here for Godsake and they were there acting reluctantly, including the fact that they were incompetent.... In fact that hospital should be dealt a huge blow
Re: How My Only Child Was Killed By Doctor's Negligence - #JusticeForTobi {Pics} by Aleliberty(m): 4:35pm On Jun 28, 2017
Painful.

Medical doctors this days are just Malaria doctor, they can not attend to any kind of emergency at all,

My best advice

- family man/woman must make sure to register to at least one hospitals even when you are not sick to know the competency of their services

-Make sure you have a close doctor that you can always call upon

-Make sure you have a good attitude/relationship with doctors and all the staffs of the hospital, in fact including the cleaners

-If you are an NHIS patient, always have a private folders aside, Nigerian Hospital workers hate NHIS patient with passions.

NOTE

All these are for Nigerians, there is preferential treatment everywhere, if you are looking for professional treatment without preferential treatment, you will have a lot of enemies

You Just echoed my mind there. It's sad losing a life worse off a child. Seeking for justice is one thing but if actually there were errors in the management of the deceased child it will help to save the life of another child or patient in similar condition. However, it will not bring back the child's life. The mother was just too carefree with her child's life, instead she was busy noting all her claimed hospital lapses as if she knew it was going to end like this so she will have enough evidence to make a case as it has tragically happened.

If she wasn't happy with the management of the child then for Godsake demand for an urgent transfer somewhere else she would have been comfortable with.

The way I see it, it's a coroner's case so an autopsy should be ordered to determine the cause of death and an inquiry over the management of the child should be setup to investigate....simple!

flexxyworld:
such a pain. but did you try another alternative since you weren't comfortable with their treatment or request him being referred too a better or more competent hospital. its like you knew there weren't competent but was using your kids life too take such risk.

I lost my words for the mother because of her indecisive action, though God give and he do take but one must give a bravery step when it comes to such critical condition . Those who you're rely upon had nothing to loosed, nothing at stake watched them coming up to give us sweet professional grammar to back their incompetency.

I doubt if that oxygen ever worked, from the kind of rough set up I see there I doubt if that that contraption can deliver oxygen in the right pressure and amount needed..

For saying the truth, that was how one animal I went to the hospital to see after telling him how I was feeling concluded I had diabetics... I just looked the fresher and laughed and told him he's sick and doesn't know what he's saying. Many doctors we have today are pathetic and brain dead.... Take my word bro

As it is expected, I could pick some holes in the mother's narrative, most importantly despite her inconvenience and knowledge of the fact that her son wasn't getting the best of avail able care her money could pay for, she kept him there with the untenable excuse that he was on oxygen. He could have been moved even with the oxygen mask.
I am not holding the forte for my colleagues, if her account is true, they did really poorly and should face the disciplinary committee but as we all know, there are two sides tons coin.
Sound judgement can only be made after hearing both sides of the story. [s]Most of what I see in the comments are biased and preconceived judgement. [/s]
I wish the grieving family fortitude for their loss.

When two out of three people keep reiterating the same thing bout you, then it is bout time you check yourself. Please relate that to this case. Thank you.

I so feel like crying right now. No mother should lose her child to death or anything. It's the most painful experience. Rest on Tobi. I hope you find peace at the other side. To the mother, I won't fault you because I know how it feels to watch your child in pain and losing him to death. Hmmmm God will console you in an immeasurable way.
