hello house I was delayed at the lagos embassy on the 4th of December. Have been busy at work that's why this is coming late.I came out of the embassy frustrated. immediately I made up my made not to try USA again but some GOOD friends have actually encouraged me to reapply which I think i will take into consideration but I decided to drop my last transcript so the gurus in the house can help analyze it

vo ; pass me your documents

me ; good morning dear ( omo the fine Chinese America no send me sef)

vo ; why are you going to the U.S.A ?

me ; to obtain a bachelors degree in clinical lab sci at east central university ada, Oklahoma

vo ; what's your highest level of education?

me ; bachelors degree in biochemistry

vo; so why another bachelors ?

me ; that was my dream course of study but my mum made me to study biochemistry because she was a biochemistry lecturer, so she wanted me to follow her footsteps which I did but...she cuts in

vo ; you could have gone for masters in clinical lab

me ; I would need a first degree in clinical lab before I can go for a masters in clinical lab.

vo : am very sure you can do a masters in clinical lab ,having gotten all the prerequisite in your first degree

me ; this will broaden my knowledge of medical diagnosis with that I can obtain a license to practice as a professional clinical lab scientist

vo; how many schools did you apply ?

me ; three

vo ; mention them

east central university ada Oklahoma, arizona university tempe and university of central florida

how many admits ?

me ; two ( east central university and arizona state university)

vo ; so why ECU?

me : aside offering all the courses in line with my proposed plan, they also offer a non resident tuition fee waiver worth 7,296 USD to eligible intentional students so that brings down the cost to attend

vo; are you married ?

me : not yet but I have someone I intend to settle down with as soon as I return because she is the mother of my child

vo; oooh you have kid

me ; yes

vo ; am sorry bla bla bla

Good day all, my wife and daughter F2 visa delayed at Abuja this morning majorly because I stated during my own interview they were not coming with me which was true at the time.
Please any helpful advice? And when is the next available date in Abuja? I am so devastated right now.

So you still want to go ahead to reschedule another interview after getting the reason they were denied at first? Well, this is one of the things TWoods keeps scolding people on, but because of the fact that we fail to adhere to our reality, you get to see people of like minds attacking the dude for giving the bitter truth! I can only wish you all the best bro, but believe me the VO has recorded every details so regardless how many times you reapply, the next VO would see the details on their system!

Just have them apply for visiting visa after you get settled in the US. The F2 is already cast according to the reason you have earlier

Thank you for your advice, very helpful as I am even in the process of reapplying for them. How do we manage visit visas for a 4-5 years PhD program. Are plans not allowed to change over a 4-5 years duration. Moreover, the question are they coming with you appeared to mean are they coming with you at the moment? Maybe I should have answered, No but they will join me later.

I would advise you to eradicate this usual “I no send” “abegi” mentality and try to always pick out the truth in every harsh words to work better on yourself. Why should you be worried about what someone said as long as you pick a point out of it. Beeni ooo. Make i tell you something bro.

I was looking at my parents pictures smiling the other day when i saw twood comment about "nigerians are as dishonest and fraudulent". I looked at my parents picture again and this thought came saying if what your parents you adore so much are as dishonest and fraudulent? The thought just flashed through my mind.

That is to show you how words can go a long way but then i remembered he's also nigerian with family and i concluded in my heart that then " His family are also as dishonest and fraudulent" if what he's saying about Nigerians are true

You are such a confusionist and one of the problems we have as a nation. Infact you should be ashamed of your self for blaming TWoods for the way you think. Is he responsible for the way you translate his advise into your own thoughts or has he in anyway mentioned your parents? People like you are the major problems we have as a country! I can only feel so sorry for you. Is this the kind of mentality you want to use to raise your own kids? You really have a long way to go

And how does one adhere to the reality of his heart and soul being elsewhere, and he has the means to have them all in one place?

Please house, last week I posted my visa delay transcript where majority of us here didn't see any issues with my responses. Please, my question is, when asked, WHAT HAS CHANGED IN MY APPLICATION, how best do I approach that question?

What if nothing was wrong with all your answers and they only need another visa fee from you? cheesy

One thing I think you can do differently is relate your master's program in a better way to the current job you do.

Be ready to link masters Maths and Statistics to your undergraduate Computer science (why the swicth) and tell them what skills will be learnt from your masters program that will be of benefit to you in your bank job (since you mentioned that previously, it is good for home tie).
I guess you already did this in your SOP, please say it again in the interview, nothing was wrong from your transcript.

I will be expecting to see you in Tamuk smiley, don't worry yourself too much. The interview questions are harder than what it was for Fall 2017!

Landing at San Antonio airport (2hours 30mins) and Corpus Christi airport (1hour) to school are convenient but more expensive.

George Bush IAH (4hours to kingsville) - the most preferred and cheaper option for those landing here for school - is like 35minutes from Greyhound at 2121 Main street Houston and cost around $40 by Uber.
Then about $70 Greyhound Houston to Kingsville. This price fluctuates.
Plus an additional $15-$20 to get to 'your apartment' from your last stop at kingsville.

There are cheaper options to do this, one being the group >>TAMUK rides<< on facebook.
You can also schedule a pickup organised by the school, IAH to school, but you need to book this.

The Interview went this way
Vo: good morning
Me: good morning
Me : how was ur weekend?
VO: It was fine, and yours
Me: great
VO: You are going to study in US right
Me: yes
VO: How do you know about this school?
Me: it was recommended by mom's friend whose son finished from the same school.
VO: what is your highest degree?
Me: Bachelor degree
VO: when did you finish?
Me: 2014
VO: who is your sponsor?
VO: My mom and I was given a scholarship by the school
VO: Why?
Me: because of my outstanding academic performance where I have 4.31 of 5 scale ,and 3.65 of 4 scale .
VO: how did you get it?
Me: I only sent my transcript
VO: What was your project doing your undergraduate?
Me: ( I can't remember, I stammered for while with incoherent sentences) Misconceptions of history where I identify how to use history to solve crises and violence such a Bokoharam in a historical way which I conducted in University of Lagos. I also took it to public school to inculcate spirit of patriotism in them.
VO: what part of history will you be studying?
Me: World history, because I will be teaching IGCSE history when I returned to Nigeria.
VO: Do know anybody in Us
Me: No
A moment of silence
And the magic word came

It is God's favour and grace nothing else. No document was asked even I dont have any.
This is a great thread,it was introduced to me late last year, very helpful.

The VOs aren’t as stupid as you think. You most likely claimed your family wasn’t coming with you so you could use them as home ties and improve your visa chances. Now you want to sneak them in through the backdoor.

Second, in another post, you claimed the VOs should understand as they make changes as things happen daily. Well true. But a decision to move an entire family to the US on an F2 visa is not a decision you make over a bowl of eba. You must have thought this through for weeks and months... since your wife would have to quit her job, a decision no one takes lightly.

Don’t be devastated dear, you’re the architect of your own pain. The VOs are free to change their minds as they wish, the US is their home country. You are also free to change plans as you wish, in Nigeria. Stay home and enjoy the fruits of your own dishonesty. God isn’t mocked.

Plans are allowed to change, if you’re honest about it upfront. If you had claimed your family was coming on f2 visas, they would have asked you how you intend to fend for them, since your wife won’t be able to work and you most likely would have needed to present financial documents to prove that you can survive with little income. Second, that would have removed a major tie for you and you most likely would be asked other questions.

Plans are allowed to change but VOs have to strictly apply the law. This is not Nigeria where sentiment rules. How you manage visit visas (if you get one since they got you on a lie) is not their problem.

You need to thread careful so you dont cause a trail of denial because i seen cases where the embassy will eat eba on the person passport and be dishing out the rejection

If you had said no initally however the question was framed...then it best to go a semester or even a year and they go to the embassy . But if u insist on doing it now now ,going again after a rejection then that a risk i guess u are willing to take.

Who is Twoods to scold anyone? What right does he have to do that? Na him dey pay visa fee abi sevis fee?
If he is your god, just know that he is not everyother person's god.
Make you and Twoods park well.

I would advise you to eradicate this usual “I no send” “abegi” mentality and try to always pick out the truth in every harsh words to work better on yourself. Why should you be worried about what someone said as long as you pick a point out of it. This is a faceless forum and if I were you, I’ll just extract the facts in the rankings and leave the rest for the thread.

Eradicate what? Taah shift.
I no send you or twoods.
With my posts, you think say I send anybody before? undecided

Well this is true bro, I think I agree with Twoods on this one. You should have thought it through before the interview and at least be honest. I love honest people that's why I like Twoods, I don't just like the way he talks ni.
So bro go back and be truthful to those guys called VO
Ok, Thank you.
