does anyone know how much it would cost to start up a high-end night club in naija, - Location- ABUJA, i and my friends were thinking of starting up a night club, not just any night club but a high end one, which was why i picked a location like Abuja, but i need to find out how much we would need to invest, we have an idea of how we want it to be, we would have a VIP lounge, a stage where artist can come in and perform, its going to be like 2-3 story building, its going to be huge.

so if anyone has an idea or an eztimate please let me know.

To build a high-end club from the scratch, like you want to do, you need to put aside at least sixty million naira( 60,000,000). This amount would comfortably cover all your expenses, and would create an averagely decent night club, with VIP sitting and one or two nice bars.

60million naira for an average night club , things are either ridiculously expensive in nigeria or nigerian clubbers are insatiable

If N60m will create an average nite club you better look for proper business to do _{except you like seeing aristos on a daily basis}

listen, night club biz is big biz in naija.

club owners charge a gate fee of about 2,500 averagely and 3,000 or more for VIP. And most major clubs are open 3 times a week.

If the club has about 200 people a night, that brings their total income from gate fees for that week to about, 1.5 million naira. And that's just gate fee.

So, you can imagine how much money they make in total in a month.

If you guyz are really crazy about strip bars, then you should know that ONE X is the most sophisticated one. They have strippers from all over the world.

You have to be a member though to go there. And your wallet must be very fat, as it is a champagne bar and drinks are mighty mighty expensive.

starting a club is really hard work. ther are alot of clubs out there that look amazing and people spent alot of money on but its just not rocking.

you have to think of clientele, what kind of people do u want at your club. Do u want uni students, or te big boys, or the big guys (senators govs).

its very rare you draw all of them. and u alos have to consider competition, in lagos for instance there is alot of competition on the club scene on the island, you have to give it that extra something to attract people. in abuja which is where u want o set up, there isnt much of a social life there, but everything in abj is more expensive than lag so as razor said if it costs u 60M to set up a decent club in Lag, in Abj budget about 100M.

Thats a whole lotta money to spend on a club if it doesnt rock ur 4kd. you need to be sure of pulling a crowd, only lag has the kinds crowd you need.
the big guys in abj are too stuck up. they hardly socialise.

Think about setting up in lag, they are never tired of partying and clubbing, its like NY city and Las vegas rolled up in one.

On the other hand dry abuja needs more clubs to redeem it from becoming sleepy hollow.

What about backup? don't you have to have serious backing of the police/army so the armed robbers wouldn't hit you up?. I would suggest talking to somebody who already runs a club, and then making your decision. You may think a lot of these clubs are making money of gate passes and drinks NOPE!!! they launder money for drug dealers! and there are a lot of deals going on in the back!

if you dont want to blow so much millions on night clubs trust me thats posiible, think of students!! afterall some students just want to get their groove on without aristo daddy and and working girls disturbing them.

Security is a big issue though

You see, it is because of this security issue that I said that it would be wise for you to create the night club in an urban area, where other night clubs already exist. Those areas already have a good security network. Ikoyi and V/I are good examples. However in the night club, you will make a budget for security. You have to employ a credible security firm to handle security matters within the club. That's what most night clubs do.

As for the issue of drugs, it is no secret that a lot of night club owners engage in this act. However, a lot of them are fading away, as security agencies are clamping down on them.

As for the issue of prostitutes and aristos, I don't think we can do away with them for now. However a couple of clubs are beginning to clean up their act, and place a restriction on the type of people who can come in. You can do the same in your club and still make good money.

Your ability to make money would depend on your marketing network.

the nightclub i want to start up and expand from is targeted at students and young, fun loving people. there will be a host of games, a pool table, etc, to engage people. i will also focus on trying to offer students part time jobs, so they can make some money while still at school. i hope to finally spread all over the country, particulalrly in university towns. so investors wanted unrgently, its like a private placement.

yeah i was thinking the same thing iyc. its pretty much gonna be geared towards university students which inturn would draw in more outsiders. if the club is hot, people would definately spread the word, and i can hire people to sing on the stage thats gonna be built, i could hold concerts and other stuff there to generate extra funds.
