hmm... Your talk of lazy people is kind of ill placed.... BecAuse it is safe to assume a "lazy" person wont be hard working enough to afford a car, and this increment of fees is affecting car owners... So by and large, it doesnot even affect "lazy" people.

Bro, there is something called cascading effect. The car owners will recoup their costs, as much as possible, from the lazy bones who are always waiting for another person to dash them money even though the money could have been stolen from them in the first instance.
Laziness is not just the physical but most importantly the mind hence why they will be chased away to farm in their villages.

The reign of apc may be coming to an end. This idea of igr may be attracting a lunatic speed from the Lagos state government. Meanwhile no body is sure of the proper use of the already generated monthly revenue of thirty billion naira. As we say in the local parlance surfry surfryooo Lagos.

With the increase in prices, It would be better if the duration of all the car papers are increased to 2yrs or even more. Most times our leaders are just clueless.

The generation decides whether it wants to see the dividends or not.
They have to ask persistently and convincingly until they see their money FULLY working for them.
Not asking aggressively means that they will continue to moan, wail, complain and whine but nothing will happen.

but you know Nigeria is a country that nobody wants to go against the norms so that you will not be termed "disrespectful / stubborn) + the force is against us... Nobody wants to die first or be the lamb of sacrifice

Can't there be a way citizens can have inputs in all these cost and charges related issues before they are enacted into law?

What is state assembly doing anyways?

I don't understand what the noise is all about. The government want you to take your car to the center for physical inspection where lives and property will be secured. The center will accommodate the Insurance platform where you can get genuine insurance at the press of the button. The center also allows you to obtain your tinted permit free of charge, no middleman. You will also get your BCMR Bio metrics Central Motor Registry card that gives you final protection against the loss of your vehicles. The BCMR is the Police response to stem the rising tide of stolen vehicles. All you need to do is to ensure that you get your correct engine number and Vin number and fill the form online together with your tinted permit application. You bring the vehicle to the center for biometrics capture and you will be issued with a smart card that covers the details of your vehicle i.e, vehicle license, Insurance, Roadworthy Cert and the BCMR all in a smartcard. We are too big to take our vehicles to these centers and imagine Gazzuzz going to Oyo to get the manual certificate for 1750. Na rain water he go take go there? The BCMR will eliminate all the paper documents that you carry now. Just the card and anywhere you are stopped for checks, present the card and the Police will through the card get all the information that is needed. Car Reg, your job is at stake right now.

When are the centers opening to the public? 4600 is better than paying 18k just for tinted permit
Re: Lagos State To Increase Cost Of Road Worthiness by sooperrescue(m): 8:42am On Jul 20, 2017
The centers are already open but every motorist for bcmr and tinted should go to the police website for tinted permit and fill the form. You can get genuine insurance policy at the center for just 5000. That will eliminate the wrong information that usually accompany third party as per colour of the vehicle. Get your roadworthy certificate after you go through the computerised testing where everything related to the emissions, headlamp settings, tyres, brakes, suspension and bushings are checked within 10 mins.

Can someone verify, I just sent for the road worthiness for my private pickup truck to be sorted and they're billing 7k and its for a period of 6 months, this doesn't seem to correspond with that list, seems like its business as usual because there's no receipt provided either

PRIVATE should be one year. Cost should not be more than N5500 at most. If the person have done a genuine job for you, there should be no issue since you agreed on the price with him

Does it have the red plate number? Then it is not private. You have to take your car there, no proxy anymore
