Re: The Oscars, 2010 : Nominees Announced by IgboMafia: 3:14pm On Feb 04, 2010
NIGERIANS!!!!

Certain issues should not bother us for God's sake. Tell me how can Oscar award can put food on the tables of hunger and poverty stricken Nigerians? How can it provide shelter, food, clothing and security to the hopeless in Jos, how can it provide jobs to the militants in the Niger Delta and most importantly how can this make our sick President leave his sick bed. How can it make the cabals from the Northern Nigeria respect our constitution? How can it make Tinubu leave Fashola alone and Chris Uba leave Anambra state alone.
We have too many domestic problems that would make Oscar Award or whatever a non-issue here.God bless u all. Lets re-think and change our ways.

i remember last year when everybody rooted for Dark Knight. What did those silly people do? Gave every award in sight to a certain Indian flick, a movie for sissies. Tah!
I fear for avatar o. dem no dey give award to the one wey everybody dey expect
Re: The Oscars, 2010 : Nominees Announced by obinna5000(m): 10:22am On Feb 05, 2010
@shfizle
At last year's Oscar awards, "The Dark Knight" was not even nominated in the Best Picture category. Although it won Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger, but for the movie not to even be nominated in Best Picture was a big snub.

Two South African Movies nominated 9 times, Distric 9 and Invictus, It shows that South Africa is growing in movie production. A couple of movies are in line for production this year. Tsotsi did it some 2 - 3 years ago by wining an Oscar. Lets see whether Distric 9 or Invictus can repeat what Tsotsi did.
Re: The Oscars, 2010 : Nominees Announced by obinna5000(m): 8:55am On Feb 06, 2010

"Invictus" was not done purely by South Africans. Clint Eastwood directed the movie and it starred Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as Francois Pienaar.

You are right, but wrong. Every thing about the movie is SOuth African, except the main actors. The majority of actors are South Africans. It is only Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon who are not local, and the director Clint Eastwood. The movie was short 100% in South Africa. Distric 9, 100% South African, no foreign actors. The Director is also a South African. Some thing to be proud of. I wish the rest of the continent could produce movies that can be realized in America. We just need to improve on our quality. America is more open than never before, they can watch a foreign movie if its good regrdless where it was made.

What is your ignorant behind doing in TV/Movies? If you live your life stuck up without any form of entertainment because Nigeria has problems and you love her so, please, by all means, go and hug a Nepa Pole.
Thank you.
